I know this is a long standing bug in proxmox because I have read the threads.

Basically when my vm tried to load it never tried to boot off the disk but rather the network boot option. You can change the order but it ignores you. You can delete the network boot option but it comes right back

The work around in older threads is to remove all boot options except for your hard disk. I have tried that but they come right back. Is there a way to get rid of of the network boot option like could be done several years ago?

Thanks.

This worked for me. Thanks to the OP:

I have this problem too, trying to boot from pcie nvme passthrough.
if you have passthrough the drive you may see in in vm -> options -> boot order.
here is info about changing it from config file: https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Manual:_qm.conf
see there the bootdisk option.
