My KVMs fail to start sometimes and it only works if I re-try it several times.
I am using the latest Proxmox server, installed with ISO.

I have found the several warnings in dmesg:

dmesg | grep ACPI

Any suggestions?

which kind of vm is?

dit it work before 3.2, and exactly which pve version? and did you try to disable acpi, even if just for test? anything else changed?

anyway, afaik, a "warning" should be a lesser problem, if a major problem happened, preventing some required functionality, probably an "error" would have been raised. if ACPI is not working in a vm you lose functionality (see also http://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Acpi_kvm) but the system should be able to boot. are you sure there aren't other issues?

The server is new so I don't know what it would do with previous Proxmox version.
I do have another server (from which the VMs have been migrated with backup-restore) and on that server I am not having any issues.

That other server (without the problems) has:
proxmox-ve-2.6.32: 3.1-114 (running kernel: 2.6.32-26-pve)

I had placed another post which describes the problems with the VMs. The VMs are Centos (5 & 6).

I have not tried changing the boot options on the new server a)because it will not be the default anymore and b)it's not easy to do that as the server is in a DC and a KVM console is not always available. And if I disable it, then this means that I won't be able to shutdown VMs from the Proxmox GUI, correct?
