2 Simmelar Servers

Hi

I have 2 Simmelar Server. Both are Same Configured, Same Firmwares, Same SSD's, Same OS Disc etc.

First i had just one.
Disc Configuration: 3x 10K HDD for OS, 4x 1TB SSD for RAID5. (Hardware RAID)

So i used and worked all very well.
Cause of Failture Optimizion we bought a Second one - Got it Cheap..
Both got also a 10 GB Link to the Other one for got Much speed.
I don't have any Budget to get a nice - expensive - NAS. Cause the NAS would cost, also we need to Replace the 10 GB Switch.

So Now my Question:
Is there any Possibility to get them Clustered (it's ok if Disc only Synced or something) if the master is shuting down or something issue the other take his work? --> For example on Host Updates, Reboot, Hardware Upgrade etc.

If a 3. Proxmox Server is "needet" i can use a VM on our Backup NAS (only a 2 Bay slowly NAS).

I hope you understand what i mean.

I tried now Solution 2. But on the VM i want to test it i get this Error:

missing replicate feature on volume 'local-ssd:vm-100-disk-0' (500)


How to Activate this?

Sorry, I've missed that you have hardware RAID.

If you want storage replication then you will have to use ZFS. Note that ZFS on top of any hardware RAID is unsupported. So you would ideally use a HBA instead of hardware RAID for this type of setup.

Note: Depending on your controller you can just enable "JBOD mode" or crossflash the controller to an HBA.
