I have attempted to upgrade to the Proxmox server which I haven't used for a few months.
When launching the updates, these error messages appear:
100 upgraded, 7 newly installed, 4 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
Need to get 0 B/207 MB of archives.
After this operation, 54.5 MB disk space will be...
I have installed Proxmox Android App and now I would like to turn off Proxmox, but I cannot find an icon or a command to be able to do this.
I can't even find a way to log out of the app.
Are there no instructions?
If I connect to the Proxmox server from a PC I see the summary in 4 panes, as in this screenshot.
If, instead, I connect from a second PC I see it as stacked boxes. However, I did not understand what option there is to view them in the first format, which is much more convenient.
On Proxmox I have several Linux VMs, mainly Debian 11.
Very often the VMs start in Emergency mode and I don't understand the reason.
Sometimes the problem is starting a VM; other times asking for its reboot from Proxmox; other times asking for its reboot from the command line or from its GUI...
I am creating some VMs, others I have already created.
They are all configured in the same way.
The installation disc is the latest version of Debian 11.
All standard options, CPU with 2 sockets and 2 cores, Memory Min / max 512/2048, guest agent enabled.
Usually the first screen appears asking...
I have to simulate a network where two offices are connected by an optical fiber, therefore a connection between a switch and a switch.
But it doesn't seem to me that in Proxmox it is possible to connect two bridges since only the bridge - NIC association is allowed
I have 4 NICs on motherboard and 2 NICs on PCIe card.
The 4 NICs are associated with bridges; the other two are unused.
I would like to use these remaining two to double the speed of the main two NICs (of group of 4 NICs) and as a backup should they fail.
Can this be done if they are already...
I have a zpool with three volumes in RAID-Z2, each with 7 disks.
I created the Zpool with volumes with the same number of disks.
This zpool is associated with a mirrored log and a cache, by NVMe.
I have two other unused HDDs and would like to create a new mirror pool.
Can I bind to this the...
I had opened another post because I had encountered a problem in the VM consoles that were constantly crashing. After a few seconds "connecting" appeared and we could still work for a minute or two; then yet another block and so on all VMs.
However, we then noticed that the shell also crashed...
Regardless of how the server's HDDs are managed, in hardware RAID or ZFS, does it make sense to manage the virtual disks of a VM with its own RAID / ZFS?
The performances would still be degraded, since they are always virtual disks, but how degraded? A lot or a few?
Obviously, the purpose of...
I launch a VM, for example to configure the Debian installation; I work for some time, but then I lose the connection in VNC console.
My mouse moves, but not the mouse inside the console.
I have to click again, more than one, and wait several seconds to see "Connecting" and go back to an...
By installing PVE on Debian I set up the LVM Group pve and the three volumes root, data and swap for mounting on /, /var/lib/vz and swap.
When installing PBS on Debian 11, what configuration should I set up?
I can't find any indications in the documentation.
Wanting to use ZFS, the same tips...
Sorry for the newbie question.
I have to connect two NVMe plugged into PCI slots with an adapter.
But with the command ls I find 4 listed, in two pairs.
ls -l /dev/disk/by-id/nvme*
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 13 6 ott 11.26 /dev/disk/by-id/nvme-eui.6479a74990503425 -> ../../nvme0n1
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root...
In the server I have 25x300GB HDDs. I work with VMs. Server has 64GB.
2 HDDs are used in mirroring for Proxmox.
I was thinking of creating a pool with 3 VDEVs with 7 HDDs in RAID-Z2.
In this way 2 HDDs are left over.
But if the data is spread over the whole pool, then maybe 4 VDEVs with 5...
I installed Debian 11 on the server and then connected via SSH to install Proxmox using this guide.
In Debian I was using en01 with a default IP assigned by DHCP.
Now in /etc/network/interfaces I see iface en01 inet dhcp but with ip a I see
eno1 <BROADCAST, MULTICAST> mtu 1500 qdisk noop state...
I want to create a zpool with 3 vdevs, each with 7 HDDs in RAID-Z2.
The first Zpool I create it in the GUI and I am assigned 7 disks with the name SCSI-#SerialNumber.
If I use the zpool add command with the other 7 /dev/sd, they are added to me with the device name, no longer with the Serial...
In Proxmox 7.02.11, I ran the command: zpool destroy MY-Pool
With zpool status it no longer appears in the list, but it is always present in the GUI and if I try to create a new ZPool with the same name it gives me an error.
How do I permanently remove it?
I have an HP DL380p Gen8 server with 25x300GB SAS HDDs and 2x480GB NVMe installed on PCI Express adapters.
I have installed Proxmox 7 on these two NVMe, but then the boot does not start.
I have read on the net that the server is too old to accept booting from PCI although they are seen in the...
I am new to PBS, I apologize for the trivial questions. I am reading the documentation, but in the meantime I would like some first advice.
My server is a Dell R510 with 2x480GB SDDs in RAID1; 3x600GB HDDs in RAID5; 9x300GB HDDs in RAID6.
With the Dell PERC H700 controller I am not able to view...
I am installing Proxmox on NVMe with a PCIe adapter.
The installation is successful, either by installing Proxmox on one disk or on two in RAID1.
But then at boot it does not start and the server (HP DL380 G8) goes to try to boot with the network card. Obviously it is configured to start the...
