I've been running Proxmox for many years now and it's always been highly reliable.
Recently I switched to some newer smaller hardware (16 x AMD Ryzen 7 4800U with Radeon Graphics (1 Socket)), they have been running perfectly for 4-5 months. However for the last month or so they have started to...
Since upgrading to 7.2-5 the console of the VMs seems to have developed an issue where the mouse cursor inside the VM is way off from the local mouse and make it impossible to navigate a graphical UI.
I've restarted the VM and browser, I've also tried rebooting the proxmox server.
Sometimes...
Hello all,
I've upgraded to Proxmox 7, and use openvswitch, and ifupdown2 as well as several bonded interfaces. All was working just fine until yesterday when I did a "apt-get dist-upgrade". Since then the interface is reporting "no carrier" and not working :(
I've another 2 identical proxmox...
I'm trying to setup proxmox in an HA environment. Where possible I'm defining multiple of anything in the environment.
I have 8 proxmox servers, and I've defined a load balancer (pfSense) which routes to port 8006. I've created letsEncrypt certs for each node, with two entries.. host.domain and...
I've been using proxmox and FreeNAS for many years with NFS shares. Recently I've started moving over to using an iSCSI LVM storage. This seems much faster for the disk io inside the VM.
On FreeNAS I'm taking snapshots of the pool regularly. Now for my issue..
One of the VMs messed up its...
I've been using lets encrypt since it's beginning (which isn't say too much, it's still very young). I have also been creating and installing the certs on my Proxmox system manually so when they include the options to automate this I'm very excited. However... There is no way on earth I'm...
Hello,
I've reinstall proxmox 4.1 on a 5 node cluster. I've fixed the clustering so igmp-snooping is working. Well via pvecm status I can see all the nodes are good.

Hi all,
I've started to make use of pools to help manage my growing VM servers. It would be really nice to be able to select a pool of VMs which I would like to backup.
For example I have a pool called "coreSystems", it would be nice under backup to be able to select this pool and backup any...
Hi All,
I'm starting to use pools and user privileges on my proxmox cluster to try and make it a little more secure.
I have scripts which manage the creation and setup of VMs. One of the actions I need to do it do set the additional ARGS to enable remote VNC and serial connections.
I've...
Back in 1.9 days I was able to use loopback devices for disks etc inside an openVZ..
I've just restored one such VZ to 2.0 and I'm seeing this error reported:
Device loop0 is not allowed to be assigned to a CT
Warning at /etc/pve/openvz/112.conf:48: invalid value for DEVNODES ("loop0:rw")...
Hello,
Just working through upgrading my PVE clusters, well upgrade I mean copy the virtual servers off and reinstall the from ISO.
How do I go about replacing the self signed SSL Certs with the ones that I already have and where using in version 1.9?
I see a number of places where certs seem...
I'm running the latest proxmox.. updated with aptitude just yesterday..
I now have an openVZ which will not shutdown... well in fact I think it is shutdown, no process in the list on the proxmox server. However the proxmox GUI tells me it's still running..
/tmp/vmops-122.out has this...
I've just upgraded my OSX desktop to the latest version of Java that Apple released last night. It now seems that I'm no longer able to run the Java console on my proxmox systems! :(
I just get the read "!" in the middle of the screen.

Hi all,
I've just published an openVZ, centos 5 based build of Darwin Calendar server, this is version 3.0 of the calendar/contact server written by Apple. They have not yet finalised it so this openVZ must also be treated as BETA.
It's very simple to setup, download the openVZ put it in...
I'm trying to setup an Asterisk 1.6 PBX in a Centos KVM.
I've plugged the USB-FXO U100 into the proxmox server:
Bus 003 Device 003: ID 10c4:8461 Cygnal Integrated Products, Inc.
And have the "hostusb: 10c4:8461" entry in the qemu config file.
in the KVM, I can see the USB device...
Hello,
I'm trying to get nut (Network UPS Tool) working on my centos 5 OpenVZ.
I've added the USB device to the devices list in the conf file after finding them with the "lsusb" command.
DEVICES="c:189:256:rw c:189:257:rw"
and restarted the virtual.
I then create the nodes on the...
I'm trying to setup the NetApp simulator inside an openVZ... I can do it in a KVM just fine, but I'd rather use openVZ.
I'm using the centos 5 template followed with a yum -y upgrade. I used a VMBR network rather than the virtual ones, as I thought that might have a bearing here...
I can...
I've upgraded by proxmox from 1.2 to 1.4 and just tried to get iSCSI working.
When I try to scan for iSCSI it tells me to install "open-iscsi".
If I try the same with a fresh ISO install of proxmox then it works just fine.
Seems the upgrade is missing something.
Cheers,

I've created an openVZ server which is now all setup just fine, however I've set it up using venet and I meant to use vmbr. How can I change this over? there doesn't seem to be any options in proxmox GUI to change the network interfaces around.
Cheers,
---Guy
