I run the latest proxmox with root on zfs
I locked myself out of the system by having added too many kernel cmdline parameters (/etc/kernel/cmdline) related to the disabling of the display.
So I tried using the rescue boot option on the most recent pve iso but it errors out stating it can not...
I no longer want to pass through a GPU to a VM that does not really need it. I mean come on Skethup 2017 you do not need a GPU.
Is there any way I can make it so that my windows VM thinks there is an actual GPU?
I do not mind if some software breaks. I just want to get past this sketchup barrier
I am running proxmox 7.3.3. and I get SMART emails if something is going on with a HDD that needs attention out of the box. that's great.
But I also would like to be alterted of ECC memory and other RAS events.
Please consider a line in the syslog (when viewed from the web gui)...
I really do not mean disrespect @martin
I respect and love proxmox and your team.
But I have asked onthis forum some times if something would be covered by getting a subscription.
The answer was always
radio silence.
So I am not sure what...
I am running proxmox 7.2.11
with
zfs-zed/stable,now 2.1.6-pve1 amd64

After taking out the only disk out of a hot swap bay in a single disk pool.
zpool status still listed the pool as online including that disk...
Please do not get me wrong, I might just as well be entirely paranoid.
About a year and a half ago I had a hacking attempt by some of Russia's finest.
I was just in time to ward it off, I think, I hope but I am just not experienced enough to know for sure.
Now do not get me wrong. I love...

TL;DR update.
I used the ubuntu 22.04.1 ISO and things worked out great.
end TL;DR update.
I am running a fresh install of

on bare metal

I install PVE as a raid1 mirror.
When I ls the contents of /rpool there is only are only empty directories. Even the /rpool/ROOT/pve-1 directory is empty.
I mean no disrespect. I love PVE and run it on several servers and will not change any time soon.
However for my development laptop it is not working out ;(
Reason I install PVE in the first place is having a mirrored zfs root. I found no other distro that has that out of the box.
But bridging...
I'd like to create an OpenWrt lxc container. I have confirmed that the image is in order.
When creating the CT I get this error message

Is reporting on ECC currently implemented in pve7? If not is it on the roadmap? and if so could we have an indication by what version/release date?
I have found a few interesting atricles. I'll share one;

I am not sure but I also think I...
When running;
pveperf [options]
I never get results including
BUFFERED READS: xxx MB/sec
AVERAGE SEEK TIME: xxx ms
I am running the latest pve 7 fully upgraded
Anyone know what's going on and how to also include those stats?
I am totally in love with the proxmox 7. GPU and Audio passthrough work straight out of the box!!!!
Even multiple trx 2060+ to one VM is happy camping.
Next on my to do is make sure my 10GB NICs are actually 10GB Nics
Current system;
* AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3990X (CPU (64 core - 128 threads))...
I'd like to setup proxmox 7 to be as fast as it can possibly be with the hardware I have and that I am considering to get;
EDIT: (this will be for non critical, non server related workloads)
Edit 2:
I would like to have a dedicated VM to pass GPU's to so that I can donate to the folding at home...
During a non scheduled network change I lost the ability to connect to the PVE GUI.
But because one of my VM's, with keyboard and mouse passthrough, has autostart I can also no longer log into the host CLI. Yeah I know, rookie mistake this configureation :(
How can I get into the CLI? It's ok...
