[SOLVED] Expanding a KVM disk on ZFS

This seemed like it should be a fairly straightforward process, but I've hit a snag getting the OS to fill out its available space. I started on the PVE host with: qm resize 104 scsi0 +20G which immediately became visible in root@pve1:~# cat /etc/pve/qemu-server/104.conf ... scsi0...

    Ubuntu 18.04 LTS LXC

Bionic Beaver ships this week. I would like to start building some test machines and am wondering how to create a template using DAB. Substituting names and numbers into an existing dab.conf returns unsupported debian suite 'bionic' when I try to init. Seems DAB is dependent on some backend...

    Container Linux in a KVM

My first experiment with CoreOS / Container Linux. Spun up a KVM with the current stable ISO as its CDROM. Booted, then created a static.network per https://coreos.com/os/docs/latest/network-config-with-networkd.html and restarted systemd-network. Verified connectivity. Then used sudo...

[SOLVED] VLAN to KVM guest using OVS

I've used OVS in PVE with VLANs previously, but the tagging was done by the guests. I'm trying to convert an existing node form linuxbridge to OVS and seem to have missed something basic. /etc/network/interfaces file looks like this: #auto lo iface lo inet loopback auto vmbr0 allow-ovs vmbr0...

[SOLVED] Blank black screen with NoVNC console on KVM guests

NoVNC consoles work just fine in all of our LXC's. Recently set up two KVM guests, neither of which will give us a console. Grey 'connected' banner comes up and then goes away, leaving just a black screen. No cursor, no change from keyboard or mouse inputs:

    Changing forum username

I inquired about this some time ago (on the previous forum platform) and was told that this could be done by an admin. Lost track of it for some long time, and on the new platform I am unable to start a conversation with a staff member (at least with the four that I tried). thank you~

    Renaming an LXC

I'm guessing I missed something obvious here, but how does one rename an LXC on PVE 4.4?

    Docker in an LXC

We have a couple of apps we need to deploy which are being provided as Docker images (no other options currently available from the developers. We would prefer (strongly) to run them in LXC on Proxmox. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/22085657/can-docker-run-inside-a-linux-container has some...

[SOLVED] PVE 3.4 - Lost VLAN connectivity to CT

Ran apt-get dist-upgrade on an old node yesterday as part of a migration plan. Upgrade went fine, no issues afterwards. About an hour ago, we lost external connectivity to a mailserver running in CT106 there. Node is connected to the router with a single GigE cable, with the main node address...

    Container storage on ZFS

Please forgive me if I'm missing something obvious here, but I'm new to ZFS storage on Proxmox. PVE 4.4 installed on a small SSD, then added a 4TB ZFS pool built on 4kn SATA drives. Added the storage and assigned it roles, resulting in this: Enabled Yes Active Yes Content...

    Ubuntu 16.04 minimal

The 16.04 template via pveam is a full system, including X.11 and more. I'd like to create a minimal server template and have read the DAB documentation, but I don't quite understand how (or if) I can start from scratch with an ISO to build only what I need. Is this possible, or do I have to...

4.2 install on Debian Jessie with ZFS

Hit a wall with the 4.2 native ZFS installer, so I did a minimal Jessie (8.5) install to an mSATA SSD. Built a ZFS RAID10, added a ZIL and L2ARC on a an NVMe SSD. Not sure what my next steps are with regard to installing Proxmox -- wiki recipes all seem to reference LVM, which seems rather...

    4.4 install to ZRAID10

Four 2TB HGST 7K6000 4Kn SATA drives selected for ZFS RAID10 in Proxmox installer. Installer fails at the end with an unable to mount zfs dialog box. [ctrl] + [alt] + F2 shows: Unable to install the i386-pc boot loader on '/dev/sda' umount: /rpool/ROOT/pve-1/var/lib/vz: not mounted umount...

    ZFS install recommendations

https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Storage:_ZFS seems a bit outdated at this point, so I'm asking about a new 4.2 install here. This will be a small system with four 2TB 4kN drives and one 128 gB NVMe drive. I plan to build a ZRAID 10 using the 2TB drives but am new to ZFS and so not as clear as to...

    4.2 install to NVMe SSD

Intel DQ77MK board with latest (July 28, 2015) BIOS. Samsung MZVPV128HDGM on PCIe riser card. 4.2 installer on USB drive boots, finds the NVMe disk and happily installs PVE. Reboot, and no bootable devices found. None showing in BIOS. Disabled legacy boot per p.20 of this guide to no effect.

Open vSwitch with CTs and VLANs

Thanks mostly to Mr. Holmes, I now have my basic OVS configuration working on PVE. There appear to be some challenges when using VLANs with CTs. To summarize: Assigning venet IP addresses would really be the best option, but does not appear work with VLANs. Assigning a veth interface and...
