Hi, don't want create new thread, so I'll add it here - it's related and someone might find it usefull...
This script executed in /mnt/datastore/datastorename/vm will name backups based on VM names. Obviously needs to be run manually (ssh/teminal), everytime new VM exist and back up...
Hi,
how can I enable huge pages on container? Need setup for DBs.
lxc-container~# sysctl -w vm.nr_hugepages=102400
sysctl: setting key "vm.nr_hugepages", ignoring: Read-only file system
Thanks
Thanks monkaX for tips, shame - but there is no space for other drives.
I'm relatively newbie with ZFS - tell the true to put ZFS on a server is a kind or test.
Usually I use HW raid, but I've found one unused server with plain SATA disks.
I'm really curious if upgrade RAM will help, I'll let...

Hi all,
incremental backups from all servers takes about 15 Minutes, but (re)sync between two Backup Servers 2.0-9 takes about 9 hours.
Initial(first) sync has taken about 24 hours for cca 3TB.
All are on the same subnet (LAN), all connected 10Gbit.
Can't see any errors, is this normal...
quick bash hack:
for i in `ls -d ./*/*/` ; do dd if=$i/qemu-server.conf.blob bs=1 skip=12 2>/dev/null | zstdcat | grep name > $i/../notes ; done
running from /mnt/datastore/localhost/vm/ folder on pbs server.
( I was lazy to do it manully :) )
Same here, for some reason web GUI ( at least v6.4 ) must have ipv6 enabled - other parts of Proxmox works fine.
Just for the sake of search in this forum adding the error:
#pveproxy start --debug
pveproxy start failed - unable to create socket - Address family not supported by protocol
Hi, seem to be fine now, I've used this command.
qmrestore pbs.pickering.cz:backup/vm/1000/2020-10-19T09:26:36Z 1000 --force
It's that different from pbs-restore (which has been used by proxmox gui)
btw: incremental backup is great, what about incremental restore :).
Hello, trying to restore(3times) backup and it has failed randomly around 18 - 50 % with timeout.
The versions are Proxmox 6.2-12, PBS 0.9-1.
Both are running HP Server (HW Raid) with EXT4 Backend, Gigabit connectivity (on the same switch).
Backups check are fine.
It's testing version, so it's...
You right the other nodes are still on 6.1-3 - that's why it happens. The one I'm using for gui management is running 6.1-7.
I'll upgrade all to the latest version, and see if any good (probably will).
Thanks for you reply.
