I have been struggling with my virtual network performance for a while now, detailed here (TLDNR - all connections over a virtual bridge are slow {VM to VM or VM to intranet} but Proxmox host is fast):

I should have added that prior performance was better. While I was not testing with iperf3 I was able to saturate a 1 Gbits/sec conection when uploading to OpenMediaVault, 120 MBytes/sec.
I am running into some VM network speed issues that I first noticed when SMB share upload speeds on my OpenMediaVault VM dropped, previously I could saturate a 1 Gbits/sec connection shown by 120 MBytes/sec upload speeds. Doing some investigating with iPerf3 I think I have isolated the issue to...
OK that option makes sense to me but I have run into trouble if the SMB share is not available when linux boots. In this case it won't be since it's from one of the VMs.
Currently having trouble accessing a SMB share from my Ubuntu 18.04 LXC. For my Ubuntu VM's I do this with FSTAB but that does not work for a Ubuntu LXC. I read that I should use a bind mount but I am not sure how to do that with a SMB share, I think I understand how to add a line to my LXC...
I have created a LXC container with Ubuntu 18.04 and added 2 network connections (1 LAN and 1 VLAN) both with the same settings for IPv4 DHCP and IPv6 SLAAC for the purpose of running avahi. At first it works and both connections show with ifconfig with IP addresses assign but communication...
Just set up postfix for notification messages but I don't have real hostname since this is just a home lab. Postfix is set up to relay through gmail
main.cf
# See /usr/share/postfix/main.cf.dist for a commented, more complete version
myhostname=pve.home.com
smtpd_banner = $myhostname ESMTP...
Sure I understand that part but if I have an undisturbed LV with VM's that worked with an old host how do I tell the clean Proxmox install to host those VM's.
I am new to Proxmox and have used it to set up my home lab. My disk configuration is a single 16 gb SSD for Proxmox and a seperate 64 gb SSD for VM, set up as a separate LV. After a lot of reading and trial and error I have everything working. In general after a project like this I like to...
