I have moved many VM's from earlier versions of proxmox to proxmox 2.0 I have noticed that the performance has gone down severely. I initially thought it was the local storage but have noticed the VM's that are on a san (as they were in proxmox 1.9) have the same performance issues.
Here is...
I was able to copy the user.cfg to a new server to replicate all of the users and their information. But the user passwords obviously did not get moved over. Is there a way to do that?
I am not looking for HA, just a central management and to be able to live migrate VM's. I have tried to create a 2 node cluster but to no avail. I see no documentation in the forum or wiki on how to do this. Can anyone point me in the correct direction.
When i click the console CAD button i get a pop up that says Send Ctrl ALT DEl? but i can not do anything with this button there is no "ok" or "send" or anything.
I have been playing around with the bandwidth rate. Seems that outbound doesn't get limited. Also if i put in 1mb/s download gets limited to about 8/mbs. If i put 0.1/mbs then i get around 1/mbs download. Upload seems to be unaffected by the changes though.
I wanted to test our the new 2.0 beta. The install process hangs quickly in the begining. Running debug shows that the isntall stops after probing edd. I tried turning edd off but that did not help.

I have around 15 proxmox nodes running. Across all of them my widnows 2008 installs are coming up to a blank desktop with no icons just a light blue screen. This has been happening the past few days across all the nodes... so far about 20 VM's are affected. Is there a update (maybe sp1) that is...
I deleted a VM that i shouldn't have. It had not gone through the backup process yet. Is there anyway to recover the data? (Not the VM Config, but the actual hard drive data)
After searching the forum and alot of trial and error i figured out how to throttle bandwidth. I used the script below. Where it says IF= i put the "tap id" that i got from running ifconfig. Example:
tap313i0d0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 7a:71:f6:1e:0a:fb
inet6 addr...

How can i make it so that the virtual machines in my cluster can not communicate with each other? I have tried setting up VLANS and that did not work. I tried PVLANS, VACL also with no avail. My other thought is that the virtual Switch must allow them to talk. Any help would be greatly aprceaciated.
When i am logged into the master i only see vmbr0 and vmbr1 .. Even though the node i am trying to set the VM on has a vmbr2. If i log into this node directly i can setup the vmbr2 but not from the master node.
I am not a very good programmer at all. I wouldn't even call myself a programmer. But i was able to create a web interface when a customer can create there own Virtual machine. Start | Stop it. Log into it with java VNC. Mount different iso's ect. But only for the machines that they create. I...

I am currently running about 100 VM's in my cluster. Each node has 5 NIC cards in them and so does each of the Storage machines. (i have 2 ISCSI and 3 NFS machines) I want to dedicated 1 nic in each machine for the back up process. Doing backups really saturates my netowrk and slows down...
I have upgraded to 1.8 and wanted to say that my Windows VM's seem to be running better... Also when they are idle they are using 0% CPU where with 1.7 they always hung around 6% to 8% at idle. Thank you proxmox for a great product!! I have been using in production for a few months now and have...
