Dont't know how to integrate custom checks into PRTG, but there are some in the Icinga / Nagios universe which you might want to have a look at. I've written for example a check which queries the PVE API for host and vm metrics including the cluster status.:

Ja, es sollte immer ein vollständiges ``apt-get dist-upgrade`` gemacht werden, da ansonsten -wie schon vermutet- Pakete nicht korrekt installiert werden.
You could install a standard debian stretch (with preseed) and install promox via the package repo:

Hi
I'm writing some health checks for our PVE clusters and was wondering, why the quorate flag queried by the API differs from the one from pvesh:
Via API:
[
{
"name": "testcluster",
"version": 2,
"quorate": 0,
"nodes": 2,
"type": "cluster",
"id": "cluster"
}...
We also use influx with proxmox. Unfortunately the data model (esp. units for measurements) isn't documented, so I had to look into the source code for reverse engineering. I'm planning to update the wiki page.
Alternativ kannst du auch mit einem Konstrukt a la
dd if=image.raw | gzip -1 - | ssh user@target-server dd of=/dev/zvol/my-pool/vm-123-disk-1
behelfen. Das setzt natürlich das Vorhandensein der VM-Konfiguration vorraus.
