I normally restore an previous dump when I create a template... but I am creating my frist debian 10 and the UI doesn't allow me to specify zero storage.... If i give it anything other than 0 it will create a raw file for the file system.
What is the way to do this?

I need to run the storage as local and and converted lvm-thin to ext4 by newfs /dev/mapper/pve-data then mounted it as /var/lib/vz in fstab
I have added the entry

we are trying to restore templates for v.5.1 on a v.5.3 and have have tried with --storage=lvm-thin and we get errors.
How can I restore on lvm-thin and keep the directory structure.
Is there anyway on the GUI to create a container with directory file system instead of raw?

I truly wonder why you changed from OpenVZ, it worked well. I liked that the file systems in the containers where accessible from the main machine....
0. I don't want to use raw disk images, as OpenVZ was just amazingly conveninent to rsync directories that changed often, it is also great not...
