Is there any news on this problem?
I too had to disable and SMTPUTF8 via templating engine and comment /usr/share/perl5/PMG/Utils.pm too get mail flow working properly again....
If i understand you correctly you would like to use 3 Proxmox servers with the first having 2 VMs (web &app) and the second and third node as a host for a DB server each?
The most consistent state you could achieve with the built-in backup, is to create backup jobs for each VM individually...
There are multiple ways to connect to virtual machines... RDP, SSH, VNC etc... depends on what kind of machine you are using.
Like symmcom already wrote for your case there is a protocol called RDP. That would be the most convenient if you use Windows VMs.
To use it, you have to enable remote...
I have exactly the same issue.
Also a 4 Cluster Setup.
Problem started after upgrading to 3.3 last week.
As far as i know this problem occurred also in PVE 2.x....
The workaround then was to use gzip as compression method instead of lzo....
We used Seagate Drives in the past and now use since around 1 year only Hitachi Drives.
The reason is quite simple... Seagate drives are dying like flies...
I would recommend Hitachi Ultrastar Drives.
Here is a comprehensive guide from Backblaze (a Backup Storage company)...
I use quite some time now on some of my machines and i like this patch.
Backups (atleast the ones done differential) are faster and take less space on my backup server.
So with this patch you can keep more backups with less space consumed.
Also the installation and configuration in the WebGUI...
Seems fair :)
While i sadly don't have the skill to package that, i found a way to extract images from a vma.lzo archive on a standard debian wheezy installation.
My guess was that i could take the vma binary to another machine (in my case debian 7.0 minimal) and install all dependencies that...
While your argument seems fair, i still do understand tarax arguments on this matter.
Maybe it would be helpful if you could release the vma binary as deb, so anybody who wants to extract a *.vma.lzo file (lets say on a fileserver or directly on a storage server) could install this package and...
Hi,
this thread helped me:
http://forum.proxmox.com/threads/5041-KSM-with-2-6-35
I took the ksmtuned.conf from the OP.
Of course you could change some values (e.g. KSM_THRES_COEF)as it befits you best.
You could build your own mirror with something like apt-mirror.
Here's a HowTo: http://www.howtoforge.com/local_debian_ubuntu_mirror
Obvously replace the repositories used there with:
deb http://download.proxmox.com/debian lenny pve
Hi,
for some reason i don't understand KSM is not working for me.
Here my pveversion -v
pve-manager: 1.9-24 (pve-manager/1.9/6542)
running kernel: 2.6.32-6-pve
proxmox-ve-2.6.32: 1.9-43
pve-kernel-2.6.32-4-pve: 2.6.32-33
pve-kernel-2.6.32-6-pve: 2.6.32-43
qemu-server: 1.1-32
pve-firmware...
Do you use Virtio Network Drivers on your Windows VM?
After switching back to E1000 and installing the newest drivers from Intel my problem with lagging clocks under network load disappeared.
Virtio Block driver although seem to be fine.
Hi Escoreal,
i must say I'm very intrigued by storeBackup (especially the deduplication feature) :D
I tried your script manually (for testing purposes just one VM)
Backing up und restoring a VM which was shut down during backup went fine.
But restoring a VM which was running didn't...
The problem so far seems to be resolved if you don't use VirtIO network drivers within the guest.
At least in my case....
After some experimenting I removed virtio nic drivers, gave my guests a e1000 nic and installed the latest e1000 drivers from the Intel Website.
Now the clock runs...
