You have to be careful with GPUs that are too recent, this can pose a problem. A core i3 series 10 beyond, problem with the Linux kernel version, or you have to use Xanmod.

I think I understand what you are looking for, I define:
1) a standard pve installation
2) the possibility of managing the network (wifi and wired) via a basic interface on pve
3) possibility of having a viewer (with sound) on this basic interface which allows you to switch between vms

If you want to install a "develloper workstation" with cinnamon (LMDE6), this is where it happens.
1) Install Promox-ve 8.0-2 via iso
2) Connect to Proxmox-ve via ssh as root
3) Create a new main "source.list" type file as under LMDE6
echo "#deb http://packages.linuxmint.com faye main...
Please note the links to my TUTORIAL only work for proxmox-VE 7. I am doing a tutorial for Proxmox-VE 8 with lots of other cool things.
If you have a laptop with an NVIDIA graphics card, I advise you to wait a little less than a week.
Look this for understand :
https://forum.proxmox.com/threads/developer-workstation-with-cinnamon-lmde5.107237/
And for intel Wifi card on Proxmox-VE 8 :
wget http://ftp.debian.org/debian/pool/non-free-firmware/f/firmware-nonfree/firmware-iwlwifi_20230515-3_all.deb
dpkg -x...
LMDE 6 is not planned for now.
I have an equivalent problem on a ryzen 6900HX, I had to go through the Xanmod kernel.
If the problem persists, you will have to wait for Proxmox 8 under debian 12 and switch to an XFCE or other graphical interface.
Hope this helps you.
If you want to install a "develloper workstation" with cinnamon (LMDE5), this is where it happens.
1) Install Promox-ve 7.1 via iso
2) Connect to Proxmox-ve via ssh as root
3) Create a new main "source.list" type file as under LMDE5
echo "deb http://packages.linuxmint.com elsie main upstream...
Personally, I am waiting for the LMDE5 version before performing the migration. I cannot answer the question about the upgrade. Every new proxmox update I back up all of them and reinstall them from scratch.
