Proxmox 7.4-3
legacy system
It appears at some time I got the proxmox boot tool installed.. (haven't rebooted the server in a long long time)
When rebooted today, got the "proxmox grub unknown filesystem" at boot.
Got it running now with a 6.2 install version of rescue mode. yeah!
However...
I've one machine that has been upgraded through time..
I have no local-zfs in my storage and df does not show an rpool/data directory.
Is there a way to create it so I can have a "local-zfs" option in storage?
I just ordered this server with 128g ram. Got in a bit of a hurry and now notice you can not put the H700 raid in IT mode for pass-though so I can use ZFS.
Anyone know of a fix for this? Or recommend a replacement card I can use?
Note: Will have 6 sata drives.
What I have is one nic
connected to a switch
switch connected to two differant uverse lines with static ip's.
It seems I can just enter the ip info in the vm for the second uverse connection, however cannot then see the other vms.
What's would be a good way for the vm's to still talk...
I've 4 sata re4 WD Hard drives. An ssd larc, and 96 gig of ram.
Am wanting to get better results on fsyncs.
I read you can add barrier=0 to fstab, but my install from proxmox cd has an fstab entry that looks a bit strange to me. Could one of you give me an example with this fstab file?

Proxmox 4.1
Backing up to a usb drive.
All three vms stop to backup.
Other vms seem to backup ok, but one of them keeps getting the error below and I was hopeing you guys might have an idea where to look for the issue.
start failed: command '/usr/bin/systemd-run --scope --slice...
It does not appear proxmox 4.0 is shutting down the vms cleanly when a shutdown -r now is issued.

My question is, is it supposed to? Or is that just a web gui thing?
For a small budget.
This is for a single host.
I've been greatly disappointed in ZFS raid 10, the FSYNCS/SECOND doesn't get it. at all!
Proxmox existing vm with mdadm raid 1 = 999 beats the crap out of it. (Tested while guest were running, one of them a mail server)

proxmox 4 plan for drive failure zfs raid 10
Ok, I get the zfs commands for replacing a drive. However, during testing, I yanked out a drive:
did zpool online sda2
zpool rpool scrub
However, the sda2 caught my eye..
Upon running fdisk, I notice two of the drives have a boot partition.

Am testing a server, and get this in the logs. On my other proxmox 4 server, I do NOT get these in the logs..
Is there an issue I should worry about?

On a file server I plan to move to proxmox, I've a question about the file server storage format.
I plan to put the operating system on qcow2
However, the 300 gig disk for the files (will be on the same server), I was wondering if that shouldn't be raw format?
Sound about right? A 300 gig...
Having used proxmox for our own needs, I'm thinking to use it for some small clients.
I need some ideas for simple (very simple) instructions to check the backup and swap usb drives:
Have you guys got a method you tell a secretary or whomever to change backup drives?
