Errors when connecting/using an NFS share from Windows 2019 server.

Hello all, I've been using PVE for some but always with local storage.I now need to connect it to an NFS server that I've built on Windows 2019 Server so I can store the VM disks.I managed to connect the PVE to the share I create in 2019 however I see those lines in the PVE syslog...

    Content of "Delivery Reports"

Hello all, I am facing the following problem: When I send an outgoing email and request a delivery report, the result is to get it however it is not showing the actual delivery details to the remote/receiving server. It shows the delivery from the local Postfix server to the Proxmox Mail...

Limit IPs that send through internal port 26?

Hello, I understand that the default configuration is to allow relaying from the internal port 26 to all IPs that belong to the "localnets". I.e all IPs on the same internal subnet. Although in some situations this might be fine, I would like to limit this to specific IPs on the postfix level...

Is is possible to extend retention of logs

Hello I am trying to find how to extend the time that PMG holds logs about all the email transactions (visible in the Tracking Center). I would like this to be going a few years back. How can this be done? Any help is much appreciated! :)

What to do during an update that brings a different new configuration file?

Thank you for the reply. In regards to config files such as freshclam.conf, can we edit them manually if we need more settings (i.e logging?) I noticed that the log file /var/log/clamavfreshclam.log was empty so I added logging settings in the config. I restarted the service and the log file...

What to do during an update that brings a different new configuration file?

Hello, I am getting this message and for now I have answered “keep the local”. Is this the correct option or we should be checking differences and making changes? …or install the package maintainer’s version?

securing PMG GUI root and other users

Hm... I have seen this log but it does not appear to be showing whether a login attempt was successful or failed. Here is an example of 2 failed attemtps. (The POST lines) ------------------- 192.168.2.10 - - [10/09/2020:10:54:58 +0100] "GET / HTTP/1.1" 200 710 192.168.2.10 - -...

securing PMG GUI root and other users

Good morning. I just logged in to ask exactly the same question! :) I was expecting that 2FA needs implementation to happen however my question is: To use Fail2Ban it needs to be examining the logs which clearly indicate remote IP and login result (the failures). Which logfile is that? Nikole

How to auto-delete emails matching blacklisted items?

Hi Stoiko, Thank you for the response ;) The rule was there but the emails were actually being kept in the quarantine. I believe I "corrected" it by removing the public IP of the PMG from the "Trusted Networks". I am correct in saying that PMG's IP should not be in the trusted networks?

How to auto-delete emails matching blacklisted items?

Hello all, I have created a blacklist that contains domains that I don't want to quarantine them but completely delete/discard them as they arrive. Is this possible? Nikole

Is it possible to configure cluster using other than Port22 to do syncing?

I did run that command however the output below is beyond me... I am guessing the problem is in here? >> debug3: hostkeys_foreach: reading file "/etc/ssh/ssh_known_hosts2" But what should I do is that I don't know. My nerves are like noodles now... --- root@masternode:~# ssh -vvv -o...

Is it possible to configure cluster using other than Port22 to do syncing?

OK there is some progress but... 1) ssh y.y.y.y could not connect at all (let alone without a password) 2) I made the change you suggested and then it did work fine (no pass needed as well) HOWEVER, same problems. Running the pmgtunnel with debug on now indicates : "Host key verification failed"...

Is it possible to configure cluster using other than Port22 to do syncing?

I think I found out why. See this: root@spamtrap:~# pmgtunnel start --debug ssh: connect to host y.y.y.y port 22: Connection timed out where y.y.y.y = the public IP of member1 Why is trying to connect to 22 however? I have already edited the file /root/.ssh/config with the following: host...

Is it possible to configure cluster using other than Port22 to do syncing?

Hi Thomas, Thank for the information. I created the file /root/.ssh/config (as it was not present) with the correct details. I then tested that I can ssh from one system to the other without using password and it does work. However the syncing process is failing. I am getting the error below...

Is it possible to configure cluster using other than Port22 to do syncing?

As the title says I need to use another port (not 22) for this purpose. Can I simply declare the new port somewhere in the PMG config? Note that that same port will be also configured in the SSHD deamon of Debian. Any help is much appreciated! Thank you. Nicole

Conversion of vmdk to qcow2. Is this correct?

I did not use the original vmdk disk at all. What I did was: -Downloaded the vmware image (from an opensource project) -Created a KVM inside proxmox with a qcow2 disk without starting it. Then I deleted the qcow2 disk that was created by proxmox -I converted the vmdk disk (that I had downloaded...
