    I am having the same issue and tried this and it didn't work for me. I had it working just fine on 2.2 before upgrading to 2.3. I am also running pfsense on 2.1 and even if I try to install 2.0.1 it has this issue... It seems it enters into a debugging mode when trying to load the kernel.

    Just wanted to post the final update and that would be that the ram was defective and I have upgraded the ram to a 16 gig kit and it reads correctly. I would like to thank every one for their help.

    I just ran ubuntu from live usb and it also reads only 4 gigs so it does look like it might be hardware :(

    I have not. I just bought the equipment about a week ago. I could try booting to an OS to it to see what it reads. I just hope it isn't hardware related.

    Bios is up to date. I just don't want to move to another product. I really enjoy this one. I'm not sure what else it might be.

    Forgive me I am still new to virtualization. I have 8 gigs currently installed but the web UI only reads 4 gigs. It also shows 4 gig swap. Not sure if I missed something in the setup or configuration to change. Thank you for the help in advance.
