I disabled cookies but it didn't make a difference. Compared Java versions and they are identical to the working console. Noticed that in the Opera web browser there are a lot of CSS errors. don't know if this is an Opera problem or...

I take it that you mean "delete cookie" from the web browser? I tried 3 different web browsers: Firefox, Chrome and Opera. I'll delete them all and see what happens. I'm leaning towards a java problem at this time.

Looks like a problem with my laptop. Went to another PC and can console in fine. I will research further to find exactly why my laptop stopped working with VNC.

did an apt-update and apt-upgrade, "shutdown -r now" and same problem no WebGUI consoles and same error message.
