What I would like to see is a clear-cut explanation of how Spice works. Basic stuff, like do I need to install X11 on the proxmox base install and/or within each container? Do I need to install an extension in my browser? Do I need to install more packages? Just a basic HOWTO would be great!
...and you picked this VM to install from the pick-list in "storage" provided by the Proxmox HTML front-end? This was a ready-made container provided by Proxmox? Or, did you roll your own? Can you do what you need to do with a Debian based VM, instead?
If you downloaded a bunch of files during the upgrade, including a kernel, then you need to reboot. I'm just trouble shooting with a shotgun here! And, where did you get this VM? If you installed one from Turnkey Linux, then you need to report it on their forum. If you rolled your own, no...
The AT&T router we have is not suitable for our use cluster. AT&T recommends using a router or switch that doesn't enforce DHCP the way the router they supply does. Just so I don't have to re-invent the wheel, what hardware does everyone recommend? We are on a tight tight budget, as a...
I just installed Ubuntu 13.10 which has virt-viewer 5.6-2 on my desktop machine here at home. What is the basic installs needed on the Promox server 3.1? Thanks! Ric
Did you complete the install with "apt-get update" and apt-get dist-upgrade"? My own upgrade to 3.1 went a bit wonky until I remembered to complete those steps. Ric
Symcom, we have a non-profit. U used to work for Bob Young at Red Hat, We have one young staffer that seems to claim that I am an idiot for trying to use a two node cluster for our web services. "Clustering two server...clusterfuck is what it is. Nobody clusters two servers. They cluster...
BTW, when you have a monent would you do a 'locate apache' to see if you still have any apache related files? I'm a long time Linux user and I usually install fresh, after backups. It might have been better if I had done that. You never know what get's orphaned in the process of a dist upgrade. Ric
Right, that is what I use. Unforch, I can't ssh in either. BAD! Office is about 80 miles away, and it appears staff is taking this laborday holiday to heart. Thanks for your time though! With our non-profit/volunteers it's hard at times to reach anyone to get them to do my legwork, like press a...
and check if you got latest packates, compare your list with 'pveversion -v':
http://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Download..._to_latest_3.1
Yep, all the same or slightly newer from an update/upgrade.
Remove apache:
> apt-get purge apache*
Did that and now I cannot ssh or login with browser. Nothing...
I did all that was noted when I upgraded to 3.0. Now, upgraded to 3.1 and I note apache2 is still running, even without there being an /etc/apache2 directory. Do I need to manually erase every file I have to has apache2 in it's name throughout the various directories?
Also, I don't see any...
It makes me crazy using VNC as it is. I am SO used to terminal work in Linux, with history and tab completion. I would like to change it, but is it browser specific or Promox specific??
Inquiring minds would like to know, as every time I hit the tab key, it freezes. Thanks, Ric
