When checking the current status of a VM via 'pvesh get', have been getting an error after a recent update. Anybody else see this?
Command: /usr/bin/pvesh get /nodes/<servername>/qemu/101/status/current

Hi
I have one node that uses the old network device naming convention eth*. It appears that along the way through updates it has kept the old naming convention by having the file /et/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules. Can I just delete this and fix the network setup to then use the new...
If I keep getting IO errors (and FS gets mounted as read only) does that mean the virtual disk is corrupt or the underlying physical disk on the server itself has issues.
I am trying to make backups (creating copies of files) on a VM but during the creation of the copies on the VM I keep...
I have seen some older posts (version 5.2) with this error. The solution was to update. I am running the current 5.3 version and got this error on a backup last night. This file does exist, and the VM is running so not sure why we got this error.

How can I start all VMs that have the 'start at boot' option checked? We weekly shut down all VMs and do a backup while shut down and the previous method we used to start all back up is no longer working in version 5.x.
We were stopping the pve-manager service and then starting again. This no...
Hi
Been testing latest 5.1, trying to get all the settings correct so that shapshots will work (VMs with qcow2 disks as I have read). But, I can't seem to get the right combination of file system type (ext4, xfs, etc) and lvm-thin and Bus/Device. All seem to have the options for disk format...
Not too sure what is happening with our system. Seems to be quite slow. In /var/log/syslog we have a lot of system-udevd timeout messages:
Oct 31 02:48:34 servername pvedaemon[16994]: <root@pam> successful auth for user 'root@pam'
Oct 31 02:50:52 servername systemd-udevd[27508]: timeout...
We occasionally experience a backup to disk (not a vzdump - a copy of the vzdump files, after the vzdump backup has finished) that is very slow. The syslog is full of:
pvestatd[1387]: status update time (286.687 seconds)
It is not always the same disk (there is a rotation). And after a...
I would like to update my fresh 4.3 installation without going to 4.4.
Is this possible with apt-get upgrade or will that mix some 4.3 and 4.4 stuff?
Background - tried out 4.4 and most of my VMs wouldn't start, couldn't get any info/answers here so I have done a reinstall to 4.3.
We have a server that we tried to upgrade from 4.3 to 4.4, but now the CentOS 5 VMs will not work (they say they are running, console does not work, can't ssh in, reset starts to boot CentOS, udev starts, but then we get the proxmox logo on screen twice (left and right) and then it just stops...
I am trying to shrink a VM raw disk but have so far not been able to find all the steps/pieces to make it actually work. I can get the LVM filesystem down to the desired size, but getting the actual raw disk file to shrink results in not being able to boot.
Here are the steps taken with what I...
I have two CentOS 6.8 VMs. Sometimes, when they start up, I get the following kernel panic error:
kernel panic - not syncing: out of memory and no killable processes
I found the following thread, but it seems to have been a bug that was resolved...
I have a fresh install of proxmox 3.4 (see version info below). Previous server was version 3.1 and the backup method we were using was working. We do a snapshot mode vzdump Mon-Thurs as follows:
vzdump --mode snapshot --compress gzip --storage drive2_backups --maxfiles 1 --mailto...
Did an upgrade from 2.2 to 2.3 and now get the following error from the backup/dump:
Undefined subroutine &PVE::Storage::volume_is_base called at /usr/share/perl5/PVE/QemuServer.pm line 4487
Backup:
vzdump --quiet --mode snapshot --compress gzip --storage drive2_backup --maxfiles 1 --mailto...
I have a system running version 1.9 that has two drives. The main drive w/ the OS has two guests and they backup fine (storage for dumps is setup on second drive). However, the VMs running on the second drive cannot dump a snapshot, and get a mode failure - unable to detect lvm volume group...
Hi
Trying to shutdown my guests with the 'qm shutdown <vmid>' command. On my CentOS 5 guest it just prompts with a GUI box with the question 'Are you sure you want to log out?'.
Running proxmox verison 1.9.
ACPID is installed and service is running.
Guest is converted from vmware server...
Hi
What if you don't have a FQDN for your server. We have a proxmox installation that is used internally only and we don't have a FQDN for it and don't need one. How can I setup proxmox correctly so that I can still send emails without them getting bounced/rejected?
Thanks,Scott
