Windows7 VM from ProxMox 4 to ProxMox 6.0-4

[SOLVED] Found this : "Setting the OS Type to "Vista/2008" (thus disabling hv-tlbflush) could be a useful workaround for now. If that fixes it for you, let us know, as we are currently investigating this issue. It seems like it has something to do with running on older hardware especially."...

Windows7 VM from ProxMox 4 to ProxMox 6.0-4

Got a .raw file containing a Win7Pro image that ran fine on ProxMox 4.x Had to take care of some broken disks and decided to backup everything and replace the whole setup. Now I have a 6.0-4 with a couple Linux based VMs, so far all good. The trouble I have is with a Win7pro - It boots the win...

Is it possible to migrate a VM from Proxmox 1.9 to Proxmox VE 4.0 beta1 ?

I still have a ProxMox 1.9 lingering around... I know... finally got time to 'move' it. All clients need rebuilding (already done), except 1. There is this one image that if possible could go straith from 1.9 to 4.0 beta 1... Attempts to do a vzdump/qmrestore do not really work :-( Thanks for...

Win XP from old PC to ProxMox

Hi All, Let me start off with this... I am using ProxMox for years now, what a wonderful product!!! It is amazing what it can do... Version 2 is just stellar. One of the ways I use it is to 'rescue' old winBlows XP stuff from old PCs that are burning out. Got a not-for-profit organization...

Using a screen on host for client VM?

The first one might give people access to the server... but I like the second option! Didn't know there was such hardware, cool. Thanks for the tip! Regards Peter

    Routing issue with multiple NIC/vmbr

Hi ion-ral, Yep that was the problem however I was confused by the fact after commenting out the 2 lines and doing a ifdown / ifup for both vmbr1 & 2 the VMs running behind them stopped responding... I decided to reboot the server and now all is good. Is an ifdown/ifup not 'enough' Would a...

    Routing issue with multiple NIC/vmbr

Using a screen on host for client VM?

Hi All, Veterinarians (and probably others) often subscribe to a service that plays advertising in a waiting room. For vets in Canada this is often w8 a setup that requires windows & IE (It does not run on Linux FF...) As this is a 'dedicated' old crap PC usually, it is the perfect candidate to...

Re: Progress: Ubuntu server VM down after upgrade Almost 1 am... But I booted into the VM using a CD-ROM (Karmic server) and selected the rescue option. Had to ssh into the host and execute qm cdrom 101 /dev/cdrom to get that working At least I can fully recover from this situation so the...

    VZDump - KVM - Windows SBS 2008

But a higher speed does not resolve the root of the problem. Windows SBS 2008 becomes unstable & unreachable after the backup ... I found another thread talking about allowing windows to shutdown without having to log on. I will test this and replace the 'snapshot' with a full stop/start of the...

a fax modem connected to the host?

Hi All, Has anyone tried to run hylafax on a Ubuntu guest? How do you connect/configure /dev/ttyS0 on the host so the guest sees it as /dev/ttyS1? (s0 on the guest is 'reserved' for a terminal not?) Or do I go buy a SUB-serial converter and work it as a USB connection? Ideas welcome...
