Re: Ceph - Bad performance with small IO if you want use rdb-cache you need to use "cache=writeback" or "cache=Writethrough" see http://ceph.com/docs/master/rbd/qemu-rbd/#qemu-cache-options yes this parametre use rdb-cache, and yes it use RAM of the host (because rdb-cache use RAM for the cache)
