Migrate kvm from nfs to local

Hi There doesn't seem to be an option to tick "shared storage" for nfs, or iscsi, but only for lvm or directory, this is 1.7?

Migrate kvm from nfs to local

oops yes indeed :) If I use migrate from the PVE, it tries to migrate the disk, even though it is on nfs storage, and it's too big for default local storage. I will manually copy and edit qemu-server conf file, and change disk entry. If there's nothing else to do. Thanks a lot.

Migrate kvm from nfs to local

I am trying to migrate a KVM vm to a new cluster node, when the storage for the raw disk is currently on an nfs mount. Firstly I have copied the storage to the new node. Then I stopped the vm and tried to migrate it to the node. But it started to rsync the disk. this is 230GB and would be...

    Backup Storage

As a follow up to this, the instructions for setting up nfs on a VE are really simple and have been published here: http://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Intel_Modular_Server#Optional:_Setup_a_NFS_server_on_one_Proxmox_VE_node It should be very easy to create nfs exports on each server of a cluster...

    /var/lib/vz/.. nfs export

I just did a fresh install (1.5 with 2.6.18) and had the same error that Burn had. However, installing unfs as an extra step worked around the problem apt-get install unfs3 thanks for the instructions!

    Slow network on Proxmox host

I'm not sure that this is a Proxmox question at all, perhaps a Linux question but I'll ask anyway. I've got 2x HP Proliant servers both purchased in November and with identical spec, set up as a cluster, both version 1.4. One of them is running slowly. The problem seems to be specific to the...

    VZdump/restore problem between versions?

I've just downloaded the ubuntu 8.04 template from the OVH PVE and created a new, "empty" openvz VM. This also could not start, shortly after starting had it's status go to "mounted" So it made me look at the other VMs and there is another ubuntu openvz vm running. I stopped this and...

    VZdump/restore problem between versions?

Ah sorry, yes I did use vzdump to make the backup in the first place:- vzdump --stop --compress 114 I then renamed the dump and rsynced it across. The destination has two running containers:- 1x Ubuntu django 1x Debian Lenny DTC they both work fine, and have been since end of...

    VZdump/restore problem between versions?

I used the exact same commands that I used locally to copy and restore to the 1.1 box mentioned earlier:- rsync:- screen rsync -avz --progress --stats vzdump-knowledgetree.tgz 94.23.219.111:/root and then to restore it on the ovh host i did:- vzdump --restore vzdump-knowledgetree.tgz 106

    VZdump/restore problem between versions?

Ok then, yes I wouldn't have thought that was a problem anyway. nor does it seem to be a version or kernel issue, due to proxmox 1.1 restoring it fine. Any ideas where I should look next? ta Kerry

    VZdump/restore problem between versions?

Hmm it's nothing to do with the versions as i've just restored it fine to a proxmox 1.1 installation. Could it be anything to do with LVM or lack of it on the OVH host?

    VZdump/restore problem between versions?

I have set up a knowledgetree stack installation starting with an ubuntu 8.04 template locally on a 1.4 proxmox box, and then rsynced it to an OVH 1.3 host, and restored it. It won't start, and it's not clear to me why. Information I can give is: * A few seconds after I press start in the...

    Backup Storage

Yes that's what I meant. To be able to add a "backup storage" which is an NFS share on one of the nodes in the cluster, and which is automatically created in the process of adding. That obviously only adds a pre-existing NFS share available elsewhere. I guess that you mustn't really see this...
