Possible to move a backup / group backup / from a datastore to another one?

Wonderful, exactly as I expected. That said, you might mention this kind of restore scenario in your documentation, since it's the kind of thing potential backup users will be concerned about and I don't see it explicitly mentioned. Love PVE, now love PBS, thanks so much @fabian!

Possible to move a backup / group backup / from a datastore to another one?

If we store the datastore in a zfs dataset, then all the zfs send/receive replication goodness should apply, right @fabian ? So if we wanted to do a backup to a dumb (non-PBS) server, we could replicate the dataset and it would have everything we need for a worst-case restore? Worst case...

    Proxmox VE 6.2 released!

Does the included QEMU 5.0 support virtio-fs? Looking to passthrough local files into VMs / Containers as a replacement for 9p mounts. https://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=news_item&px=VirtIO-FS-QEMU-5.0-Merged

    Mounting existing ZFS datasets

Hi @moxi, sorry to necro the thread, but I'm wondering if you found a solution that works for you? I'm figured out a mounting strategy for nested datasets, described here, so I thought I'd share it. I haven't done performance testing yet, but I'd appreciate other user's feedback / comments /...

Bind mount not including files in nested ZFS datasets

I used a TKL File Server ISO to build the VM, which works beautifully. Host can manage snapshots, zfs mounts, replication etc, while an unprivileged VM can be connected to isolated VLANs for secure file sharing and joined to a domain without touching the hypervisor. Permissions seem to be mapped...

Bind mount not including files in nested ZFS datasets

@caius, I know I'm necro'ing this thread, but I keep coming across this thread as I do research into exactly the same use case, and since I figured it out, I thought others might benefit. I got it to work using 9p mounts in a VM, still testing performance, but it's very cool, and mounting /...
