    Hard Drives Setup and Management

...with that box you can only pass a physical drive in raw mode, like Owi pointed out The CPU and chipset lacks the feature for passtrough of devices, like that of a real controller. OK for a lab but maybe not for production use...even in a home environment the performance will not be like what...

PROBLEM:Two USB keys (same brand/model) trying to be forwarded to two different VM.

Re: PROBLEM:Two USB keys (same brand/model) trying to be forwarded to two different V ...glad that it worked out for you and thanks for reporting back.

    Intel i350 Gigabit Network Driver

...bumping this thread. Driver version 3.4.8 from the link above is out now. I am particularly interested in employing this NIC for testing with the SR-IOV feature that should work along with the igb driver. ...at least as far as specs are concerned. I am currently testing with Openindiana and...

    AHCI virtual disk, how?

...just add disk as normal and edit/change type in <vmid>.conf. to "sata<n>" afterwards....see: http://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Manual:_vm.conf BTW: ...why isn't the sata model not supported from the Web-UI?...would love to see that....

PROBLEM:Two USB keys (same brand/model) trying to be forwarded to two different VM.

Re: PROBLEM:Two USB keys (same brand/model) trying to be forwarded to two different V ...you'll need to pass that kind of config with the "args:" argument inside the vm config file. I did a short test with a USB stick in my test-system (which is a laptop, so don't get confused about the load of...

PROBLEM:Two USB keys (same brand/model) trying to be forwarded to two different VM.

Re: PROBLEM:Two USB keys (same brand/model) trying to be forwarded to two different V If vendor-IDs are the same, maybe use physical port addresses (..but you cannot swap the dongles in their physical ports anymore after that) ...haven't tried myself but have a look here...

    Supermicro server hardware compatibility

yes, or rather this by tom's update... If you want to go for a SM pre-built server, looks like you are right...but there are others that sell pre-configured servers, based on SM hardware (like the one I linked) and you might be able to combine case and mobo to your liking from another source.

    Supermicro server hardware compatibility

My PVE is running on an older X8SIL-F (socket 1156) without issues. With your selection, I am in doubt about the first NIC 82579LM...to play safe go for a board with two 82574L models, like the X9SCM-IIF. I found a reference here, that the NIC driver maybe not be part of lenny/squeeze in a stock...

    Supermicro server hardware compatibility

..slightly off-topic, but if you plan to assemble the server yourself, make sure that you receive a motherboard with BIOS v2.0 or greater, since only this revision will support the v2 CPU you have chosen...otherwise the board will not post and you need a non-v2 CPU and maybe other DRAM to boot...

    Intel 82574L NIC not working.

...don't know if this might be related, but there is/was an issue with Advanced Power Management Feature of PCI(e) devices in some chipsets and intel NIC (incl. 82574L). Try to disable this feature in the BIOS (ASPM or similar) of you mobo.

Is it possible to make shared directory for all vps on local storage

yes, either a 7th vps or directly on the PVE-host. ..see my edit comment above...MAYBE you are limited to your 100MBit speed, if you bridge to your physical network card....you need to check that yourself, sorry. You can use RAMdisk and export that via NFS/CIFS or FTP In your gameserver vps...

Is it possible to make shared directory for all vps on local storage

Hmm...excuse me if I got anything wrong, but your gameservers are virtual ones, right...on the same physical box. So you are not limited to a physical network speed..all networking between containers will go through a virtual network card...performance is limited by CPU/chipset bandwith of that...

Is it possible to make shared directory for all vps on local storage

...yes, filesystem access via network. How fast is "your disk" or what are your speed requirements? I do not use vps containers, but with kvm and virtio I get as fast as CPU bandwith over network (8GB/sec measured with iperf on my small UP-XEON)...on the same PVE host that is of course...

Is it possible to make shared directory for all vps on local storage

..run an extra vps with amount of diskspace that suits your needs and share it via Samba/CIFS or NFS to the others? ..or run samba-server on the proxmox-host/node...see: http://forum.proxmox.com/threads/10279-CIFS-mount-issue-mount-unknown-filesystem-type-cifs

    ISDN AVM-B1-PCI / VT-d / System-Crash

...actually either way might be bound to the same problem. Make sure that the PCIe card is not attached/bound to a socket that is also the same resource of the PCI slot (where the PCI is listed behind that particular PCIe). The PCIe and PCI slots need to have different root entries in the lspci...

    ISDN AVM-B1-PCI / VT-d / System-Crash

...not sure how to detect this in linux, but for passthrough of a PCI ressource, you need to passthrough everything that is behind that particular pcie slot of the chipset.

Video tutorials for Proxmox VE 2.0

some more suggestions: +1 for a tutorial on installing Solaris/Openindiana (OI v151a preferred) +1 for a tut on PCIe passtrough, i.e. for a NIC or HBA yes, I am selfish and I admit it :D
