My idiot colleague was trying to upgrade our non-clustered PVE node (exact version is unknown, but if I remember correctly it was 4.1 or 4.3) to 5.x.
This however led to some unexpected failure of the node (errors n stuff).
After reverting back to the Jessie sources, we managed to get it...
Today, I installed a little LXC container with a python script to update my DNS records when my IP changes.
However, I get an error that the certificate for the website that it makes the request to (CloudFlare in this case) is invalid.
In fact: ALL certificates that aren't from major...
So I'm switching my VMs to Containers (as containers seem to be the better choice at the moment).
However, one of my containers needs to mount a CIFS share (I know NFS is probably the better choice, but it's just for a Plex Media Server).
However, Apparmor denied mounting (which took...
I just got a new NAS here, which will house all the VMs.
This new NAS will replace the old NAS that holds all the drives, but when I turn off all VMs and login to my NAS through FTP and copy the proxmox share (/mnt/Storage/proxmox) from my NAS to my backup drive, I get some errors...
today, all VMs where just running normally, until the weather changed, which caused lightning to strike.
Luckily, all physical machines where undamaged.
However, during the strike, one of the fused blew, which caused all the servers to go off. (not a graceful shutdown)
I'm using all sorts of VMs on my Proxmox servers, but even when they are all under a high-load (some services get a bit overloaded), the CPU usage of the physical machine is only ~4%?
Is this number correct, or isn't the machine using all it's processing power?
If it isn't all of the...
I'm using proxmox for a while now, but I recently came up with this situation:
I have a Proxmox VE cluster running, and my brother now wants to play around with VMs too.
but because there are a few mission critical VMs running on the cluster, I do not want him to accidentally kill...
I have a small party coming up with my friends in which we try to hack our ways into each other PCs.
for this I can install all the raspberry pies (which we use for it), but I thought: raspberry pies are slow, and don't run all stuff we might use.
so I thought: I can use my spare...
today, my main server decided to dicided to just die out of nowhere.
I have a 2 node cluster running over here so one of them died.
how do I put the VMs that where on the dead server on the server that's still alive???
I'm sorry if my explanation and/or typing is utter garbage, I'm...
I reinstalled my server after 2 of my 3 servers died.
To not get the same situation again, I have put 1 server (which does the most important stuff anyways) on a redundant setup, unfortunately, I don't have the money to make all of them redundant.
how do I add more quorum (or votes)...
I have a proxmox cluster that I want to remove in 4.1
I've followed some tutorials, but they where outdated.
so yea... how do I remove the cluster???
I just want to remove the cluster completely (not just one node)
Today, we had a little bit of maintenance on the power grid, so I turned off my small 3 node proxmox cluster.
after the maintenance was done, I booted up the cluster, and poof, the cluster was completely dead.
the cluster is still there (in some sort).
each of the nodes say the other...
as the title says, how do I use another servers harddrive?I have this cluster setdrive setup: - node1: 80GB HDD + 250GB RAID1 array - node2: 80GB - node3: 80GB now I want to use the 250GB array from node1 to hold the VMs for node2 and node3how do I achieve this? I already looked into a...
Hello, I'm using proxmox for about a year now, and my previous server died today.I already have a new server, and transplanted all parts needed (the harddrives with the VMs in particular), and installed it (not configured yet!)now how do I import those VMs into the new install?I don't want to...
