so my conclusion is that we will put at least a dedicated firewall as front end, hoping that the proxmox firewall will not have the same zero day vulnerabilities as the front end firewall opnsense

a key question to decide when to put a pfsense / opnsense in a secure setup.
Another way to see it : is it secure to put pfsense / opnsense in a VM only rather than in a dedicated machine in front of proxmox host

I confirm the observed change of numbering
in 5.2-8 restoring a VM that doest not exist created a disk name finishing by 1

The key point is a "known bug " in systemd-timesyncd that can stop working silently
and it happen ed recently on one of my host
So I switched back to ntp waiting for systemd to mature a little bit
