Hi Team,
I have setup a proxmox box with iscsi then created an LVM volume on.
I installed xp with 20 GB drive then I added a second drive of 30 GB from the LVM.
before adding the 30 GB drive, when doing backup the backup was going as snapshot and everything was going fine.
Now with the 30 GB...
I have actually just added the LUn and created the LVM again and did restores as there were about 20 boxes done.
Lets see if it happens again.

Hi Team,
I added a new iscsi target and created a 5TB LVM on it.
Now I started to get the following in the syslog:
"Nov 15 23:09:18 master kernel: sd 4:0:0:0: [sdc] Very big device. Trying to use READ CAPACITY(16)."
The proxmox is in a cluster of 3.
Could anyone assist pls?
Cheers,
Raj

I had an iscsi linked to proxmox and there was an LVM on top of that iscsi.
I have deleted the iscsi but unfortunately still had a vm on it.

Hi Tom,
I do not have these as physical machines but they are already in proxmox on a standalone box.
They used to be esxi4.1 vm.

I would like to run them in a cluster environment to have failover and I have setup a LVM on an iscsi...
Hi Tom,
I am looking to have the vms on an iscsi lvm so that I can do snapshot backups.
What would be the best way to go in that direction pls.
I tried to convert the images to raw but that just makes the whole box dead slow afterwards.
Any suggestions pls?
Cheers,
Raj
I converted with the following command :
qemu-img convert diskimage.vmdk diskimage.raw
Then ran a backup, then restored that backup to the iscsi LVM.
Its taking 10 mins to boot a linux box now and cpu usage is much higher.
Cheers,
Raj
Hi Guys,
I have converted my vms from .vmdk to raw to be able to put then on a iscsi target.
After the conversion, its taking ages to boot any of them.
Is there anything else I could do to increase the speed pls.
Cheers,
Raj
