Hi@all,
is there some other way now after a couple of years to do backups of linked clones?
What I have tried is pve-zsync (because of the use of zfs). But it is telling me "no valid zfs dataset" because base and vm is written in vmid.conf.
Any idea how to make automatic backups of linked...
Hi @ all,
is it possible to update a Linked Clone Template VM? For example dooing updates to the Template so that all linked clones get them?

Andy
Would it be a problem to define multiple vmbrs with the same IP range (for example 192.168.1.254/24)
And when I set a vmbr, I have to define a IP address. What is this address for, can I use this one in VMs?

OK, so VLANs work node wide out of the box (without additional network config), right?
And for cluster wide functionality, the Switches needs to be able to handle VLANs.
@zeta
Thank you for your detailed config. So you allow the internal network to route to the public, right?
Hmm, well exactly this is the question: What to use, bridges or VLANs?
What is the main difference (benefits)?
Would VLANs work cluster wide? I assume they do.
Hello @ all,
I want to configure private networks for VMs, so that certain VMs can communicate directly with each other on a private IP.
My first though was to create multiple virtual bridges "vmbr1" to "vmbr10" to have for example 9 different virtual private networks.
Would this be the...
I do have now a temporary workarround:
Because pve-zsync always complaints that a snapshot is allready available and cannot be overwritten because not found (even if the whole zfs pool is deleted), I have just choosen a different --name for the job. This way the snapshot also has another name...
Hi Wolfgang, I do still have the same issues with pve-zsync.
Now the same error occoured on a "new VM" where the snyc first time broke because of a node downtime.
Of course this is clear that sync will not work if the node where the VM is running is down. But after the node was up again, I am...
Just for info: Hetzner seems to use Sunix external GPUs at AX60. And these GPUs cause on some kernels errors (blackscreen).
So yes they really switch the GPU when you have problems with Proxmox 5.1 and their AX60.
Ah.. sometimes it's easyer as it looks like.
I tried the "rescue boot" option before in the installer but this just throws a error.
Now with just saying "abort" in the installer the console works.
Thx
Hmm... I don't thik that this is the reason. It does not matter if the pool is under havy load or not (I had destroyed all other zsyncs for testing pourposes), the error for this one always appears.
So when I delete it, and then again create it, the first sync works. And then we get the error...
@wolfgang
Sorry I did not saw your answer.
No, we do not use nothing extra. Just pve-zsync.

Because it seems that there is no solution for the replication problem, I configured the pve-zsync tasks instead of replication.
Now on the first few syncs everything seems to work fine. But after a while it started to show me for one VM "ERROR" state.
Here the full error on manual snyc:
