[SOLVED] Shutting down any node makes VMs unavailable

How can I get the OSD pool default size? When I shut off a node, ceph goes into Ceph_Warn that the OSDs for the host that went down are offline.

[SOLVED] Shutting down any node makes VMs unavailable

Good morning. After updating from 5.4-3 to 5.4-5 on my 7 node cluster I experience a complete network failure of all VMs in the cluster if I shutdown any one node. Once the node goes down we also lose the ability to console into any VM and the VMs all disconnect from the network. If we...

[SOLVED] Clone from Template "Node appears unavailable"

Setup a group and created a new role with all of the VM. privileges except VM.Backup and VM.Monitor. Whenever a member of this group attempts to clone from a template all of the nodes in the drop-down are outlined in red with "Node xxxxx appears to be down!" however the nodes are all online and...

    [SOLVED] Near-root permissions

Good afternoon. I'm looking for a means to create super user type accounts that are similar to root that authenticate against Active directory. I have AD authentication working but I am unable to fine tune the permissions to allow things for some users/groups to create, stop, out, destroy OSDs...

    [SOLVED] Patch Release Notes?

I looked at the roadmap and I'm not seeing release notes for the patches and updates released periodically. Is there a place that I can read the release notes for patches as they come through to track changes or be aware of gotchas? Example today I see that the following updates are available...

Thanks that was a big help. I've generally only ever rebooted linux hosts after kernel updates.

    [SOLVED] W2008R2 Unkown Device

I've been a busy poster here and thanks for all the help and tips thusfar :) I've been able to correctly get all of the VirtIO drivers working on 2012R2 but am still finding that there is one unknown device within W2008R2 that I've been unable to identify. I have the VirtIO drivers installed...

[SOLVED] Adding nodes while one member offline

I had to rebuild the cluster as something got out of sync fortunately there was nothing of value yet installed. We will make note to make sure not to make cluster-wide changes with nodes offline without taking precautions.

[SOLVED] Adding nodes while one member offline

Actually if possible how can I completely remove this node from the PVE and Ceph cluster? The proc needs to be replaced and that's going to take at least a week. I'm thinking I will need to rebuild the cluster entirely which would suck and kill off the remainder of my day.

[SOLVED] Adding nodes while one member offline

I had a 5 node cluster with Ceph setup and running. Node2 was shutdown for maintenance and while that node was down I added two new nodes to expand to 7 nodes. Now that Node2 has been brought back online it does not appear in the cluster and is acting like a stand-alone PVE server. The other...

[SOLVED] 5.3.8 5 Nodes with Ceph

I have a fresh 5 node cluster installed running 5.3.8 with Ceph. The docs for installing ceph with PVE suggest a minimum of three nodes with monitors. Is it recommended to install a monitor on every node or is it ok to keep just 3 of my 5 nodes as monitors? When I connect to my forth and...

[SOLVED] HA Migrations and Ceph Crush Rules

I've been digging through the documents and many web searches and have a few more questions I haven't been able to get a solid answer to yet so I thought I'd post here again. I have a working 3 PVE node w/ Ceph clustering working nicely. 1) I have setup HA and can successfully shutdown/reboot...

    [SOLVED] Ceph Bulk Actions

Thanks I'll give that command line a shot. I'm new to PVE and also Ceph so I'm experimenting with different physical configurations of disks to better understand them. There's a lot of material to cover with both products and the Ceph portion is definitely information overload.
