There is no solution for this nginx + novnc issue. So, switching to HAProxy (if you need noVNC console) is a reasonable solution.

In Powershell Get-NetAdapter cmdlet will list it.

Basically yes. I don't think you can upgrade it directly to 5, because old cluster working on a different way what 4/5 using. And fresh install always better.
KVM is easy, basically you need to migrate HDD image (qcow2, raw, or whatever you using) and its config. But for OpenVZ, you need to convert it to LXC, with vzdump and restore.
What was wrong with piler? We using it without any issue, and when need to restore emails, its good. However, yes, we using only same basic features. All incoming and outgoing emails sent to piler server, and there is a retention policy, to automatically delete emails after 3 years. Thats all.
