    No. I simply wrote, if you want to mount RBD image with extra feature sets, you can do this on this way. QEMU using libvirt for direct connection to RBD images, and LXC doenst have enabled these features by default, because its also using KRBD.

    Hi, Use NBD for mapping. Its slovest than KRBD but working with all new moder featuers: modprobe nbd rbd-nbd -m mon1,mon2,mon3 --user CEPHUSER -k /etc/pve/priv/ceph/whatever.keyring map pool/image rbd-nbd unmap /dev/nbd0

    Its called "fake raid": https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Installing_with_Fake_RAID#What_is_.22fake_RAID.22 I prefer this way, yes, but as r.jochum mentioned, you can also use ZFS Raid1.

    Hello, THis is not hardware raid, this is a software based raid solution, what require its own drivers. Dont use this, create softraid in Linux.

    LXC with Ceph, basically mount images with using krbd module, and container using the /dev/rbdX devices. IF you don't have anyway ceph cluster, there is no advantages on this setup.
