I've allways used selfimage and it works great. You need to stop all services and do the migration while the system is still running. After the migration I do a chckdsk and sfc /scannow to check everything. I don't think this has anything to do with it, since there is no corruption to the...
I will try to disable ballooning first, see if it works.

Hello,
We moved 2 HP servers into 1 server with virtualisation (Proxmox). We used SelfImage and everything boots well. All Virtio drivers are installed and we removed all HP software.
The 2 servers are:
SBS 2008 (with Exchange 2007, AD, file, print, DNS, DHCP)
Server 2008 Standard (With SQL...
I did the following on the bad node (copy all version info from a working node):
apt-get install lvm2=2.02.98-pve4 clvm=2.02.98-pve4 corosync-pve=1.4.5-1 openais-pve=1.1.4-3 libqb0=0.11.1-2 redhat-cluster-pve=3.2.0-2 resource-agents-pve=3.9.2-4 fence-agents-pve=4.0.5-1 pve-cluster=3.0-12...
So it updated now, but it still won't migratie. Software seems newer compared to the 3 good nodes:
Problem node:
pveversion -v
proxmox-ve-2.6.32: 3.1-114 (running kernel: 2.6.32-26-pve)
pve-manager: 3.1-21 (running version: 3.1-21/93bf03d4)
pve-kernel-2.6.32-25-pve: 2.6.32-113...
Ah, I noticed a difference in the apt sources:
deb http://download.proxmox.com/debian wheezy pve-no-subscription
This was:
deb http://download.proxmox.com/debian wheezy pve
So I changed it to the one with -no-subscription
I think I did this once because of the errors about full version.
Hello,
I have installed 4 nodes. 1 was a bit older (few months) and the 3 others are newer.
I migrated all VM's today from node 1 to the other 3 nodes. That went fine.
Now node 1 is rebooted, I want to migrate some VM's back to balance the load, but Im unable to do so. I'm getting the...
I just rebooted the switch, it took about 60 seconds, but no harm was done. The load went up on VM's because of IOWait, but no crashes or read-only filesystems. Thanks!
Hello,
Our VM's are stored on a NFS server.
Is it possible to reboot the switch (disconnect cable) without having to shutdown/start all VM's? It will take about 30 seconds max for the switch to reboot.
Anyone tried this?
The problem is solved.
I figured out that "showmount -e 10.1.1.91" gives a error, while my second fileserver showed all NFS exports. It had a problem with RPCBind. I tried to restart RPCBind on ZFS01, but it caused all NFS traffic to halt. I had to reboot ZFS01 and now everything is working...
Hello,
I have 4 nodes in a cluster with a NFS storage for all VM disks.
It works fine for over a year now, but suddenly I wasn't able to create a new VM because the storage was offline:
TASK ERROR: create failed - storage 'zfs01' is not online
I checked the storage in the web interface and it...
Hello,
I have a proxmox cluster with 4 nodes. 1 node is configured with balance-alb, so the vmbr0 is using the bond0 interface.
If I migrate my VM from 1 node to this new node with balance-alb, the network stops responding. The switch tells me that the VM MAC address changed to the one on the...
I've changed the xmit_hash_policy to layer2+3 and layer3+4 (also on switch) but I don't get better results.
For now it just acts like a "active-backup", all the time only 1 interface is used. Only when I unplug the cable it will switch to the other interface.
Please advise.
I know this, but my proxmox node should also be capable of hitting 2x1Gbit if 2 other servers connect to it. So node 3 and node 2 have a connection open to node 1, then node 1 should see 2Gbit/2ports active (just like the fileserver with 4 ports). However, this Proxmox nodes do not work if...
Hello,
I have 4 Proxmox 3.1 nodes running on 2 ZFS (on Linux) servers.
The ZFS on Linux servers have Debian 7 with latest kernel and updates. The ZFS servers have 4x1Gbit in a LAG LACP in 802.3ad bond mode. The 4 interfaces all work together, making a total of 4Gbit possible if the 4 nodes hit...
Was this problem ever solved?
I have the same issue with a Dell PowerConnect 5448 switch. I tried 802.3ad and balance-rr with/without trunk group and I can't get it working like it should.
On our office we used a different switch. We didn't create a LAG and used balance-rr, the load was...
