I have the same pb with my Asus motherboard. The solution is to install first debian wheezy, Reboot and install over pve at the second time.

I think the iso has not changed, it's just update by : # aptitude update && aptitude -y full-upgrade

Speaking of OpenVZ. There's Dockers project, which is growing. I also work on the Openstack project and I can tell you that the community uses it a lot. Although it is not yet completely reliable, secure and especially live migration will come with the next version Openstack-Icehouse.
