In Proxmox PVE 6.X I've noticed some odd behavior within the GUI when attempting to migrate an NFS mounted LXC container.
I wonder if someone can repeat so I might be able to determine if this is an internal issue on my end or a bug I should report.
Note: Migration of the Container is working...
I know it's been some time since you asked this @andy77 but I've just experienced the same problem that persists in Debian Buster
To resolve:
1. Create the systemd unit file
nano /lib/systemd/system/target.service
[Unit]
Description=Restore LIO kernel target configuration...
Ive just configured my SAN to run as a PVE node/storage appliance with ZFS over iSCSI as a LIO target.
NFS and iSCSI over RDMA is working well with the exception of adding EFI disks to a VM.
Copying EFI vars image failed: command '/usr/bin/qemu-img convert -n -f raw -O raw...
This really isn't the behavior we have expected or should expect. It's not a proxmox originating issue; so where best should this be reported? Is this udev causing the issues?
Ive installed a couple open solaris distributions including openindiana and omnios both installing a UEFI bootloader. But OVMF on proxmox reports after install that it is not found. Changing to SeaBIOS does boot. I tried on both PVE 6 and PVE 5.4 with the same results: no UEFI boot to any...
I am having the very same issue on latest proxmox. Fresh install of proxmox and only one ssd attached.
This appears to be an issue (for me) with usb devices.
In my case I have an IP KVM interface/dongle that is now trying to be mounted as /dev/sda or /dev/sdb
The second one was a bad ISO...
Thanks for answering Alwin. Do you mind telling me which version/distribution you downloaded? I have tried the latest source for Debian 9.6 but in it find no Makefile.
I'm having a heck of a time trying to patch the kernel, which I am doing to support eth_ipoib.
It seems I am missing a package, a problem with the kernel's Makefile scripts, or I'm missing a few screws... It's driving me there, anyway.
So I am working in the path...
I have a question concerning the vmware vga setting of a QEMU/KVM guest.
Does this setting require any vmware/third-party software (like virtviewer for spice) ?
The reason I ask this is because the AMD S7000 server video card is compatible with VMWare VSGA and with it the video card...
Hopefully you can test it using a different disk in the event 5.2 does not provide any resolution.
My system running 5.2 was necessary to get my AMD GPU working again. I am not yet prepared to downgrade my second system with Nvidia GPU. I may have to, though.
I would be interested to hear your...
I have tried both pc-i440fx-2.11 and pc-q35-2.11 with no joy. Code 43 on both in Windows
Linux attempts to load the Nvidia driver and fails (see attached pic).
These are the same behaviors I had with nvidia when it detected a virtual machine and drivers would fail prior to appending kvm=off in...
I have been troubleshooting Code 43 on a Windows 10 VM with a GTX 1060 for days and then decided to passthrough the GPU to a linux guest VM to test the Nvidia drivers there. Both system drivers are crashing the VM.
These are the same problems I had earlier when passing an older generation card...
I would like to utilize PCI passthrough of my video card using the default i440fx machine instead of q35.
i440fx will support this and is known to have some benefits where q35 and nvidia have issues on specific cards.
When I start the VM I receive the following error at start:
q35 machine model...
The balloon driver and service is known to have some issues in guest OSs, others it works great. I experienced the problem first hand with a Windows 10 guest that I was using for passthrough. Once I disabled the memory ballooning my guest worked fine.
But I wanted to see the memory on the host...
I wish to test a custom OVMF build from Gerd Hoffmann's repo.
Repo has cutting-edge firmware builds at:
https://www.kraxel.org/repos/
Since Windows 7 is still said to have the best KVM/Spice/Agent driver support I wish to test specifically his build of OVMF with CSM enabled. I believe this may...
Yes that is it! I had never seen this suggestion; thanks loomes!
Like the OP points out, the only suggestions I have found include removing balloon, agent, and qemu tablet; with no success.
I have Balloon, agent, and qemu tablet enabled and OS type change to other my CPU usage is much more...
