OK. That wouldn't work for me as I need this server to be on 24/7 running other VM's.
I've made some progress actually...
There's no UEFI BIOS available for my card (AMD Radeon 7750) however I've found on some Mac forums how to edit the firmware. So I've created a hybrid UEFI / Legacy BIOS for...
I've got a new SuperMicro X10SDV-F Xeon D based system. It's got the newer firmware features you'd want like ACS support.
I'm trying to passthrough a Radeon 7750 card to Windows 10 which actually I can do, it works fine until I load the graphics drivers. The screen just switches off and I'm...
It's called SLIC Toolkit. Using v3.2.
Seeing as there's a pre-written patch for this it wouldn't be much of a big deal to add it to Proxmox. I guess I could see if I could patch their source myself (I'm not a dev) but it would mean each time they update Proxmox I'd end up having to recompile...
OK so neither of these are what I am talking about. Windows 8 doesn't use a SLIC table like Server versions of Windows do either.
If you see the SLIC table fails because the values aren't matching and no changing the SMBIOS settings solves this. It needs the patch I posted adding to Qemu for it...
I suspect you mean an OEM HP type ISO which checks that it's only booted on their hardware but the activation key is just a normal retail one. It's not the same thing.
Or are you saying you used a combination of an acpi slic table and SMBIOS settings to achieve this? If you didn't specify a...
Trying out Proxmox 4.2 currently. Great work by the way, the new interface makes it look so much more slick.
When passing a SLIC table using the -acpitable switch the oem_id is not correctly set so Windows refuses to activate. From what I've found on researching this Debian have built the patch...
Seems this bug is still open as it doesn't work in Proxmox 4.0 for me either. Still have to upload manually.
Looks like something that should be really quick to fix based on the code above. Any chance of getting it added in vs me having to add it manually but then it vanishing on updates?
Would it make sense for Proxmox to detect if a VM is on ZFS and if so change the default setting for a VM to one that does work? Also hide the setting which ZFS cannot support so people cannot pick it and have VM's that don't start.
Just a little GUI change to make life easier as the default is...
Hi guys,
I've made a template for Ubuntu 14.04 64bit. It's a minimal template as there's no Apache, Sendmail or such in it. Also it's set to GB timezone so change it once you roll it out if not in the UK.
It's my first template so would be good to get peoples opinions. It seems Ubuntu Server...
In fairness I was having this issue before u51. I've no issues with SSL as I've got my server running on a public signed SSL cert.
It would make sense at this point to switch to something like NoVNC. They need to stay multi platform and I think this is probably the best approach.
I guess your...
Hi,
Anyone know why the VNC console just stops randomly? Working on a 2008 R2 VNC and getting a few different errors with "Error: 400288" being one. I can click reload and get straight back on the server and it's still running but VNC just bombs out. Client is running on Windows 8.1 with the...
That's great. I look forward to seeing your performance results. I've got a server with HDD / SSD however the SSD is in use so I'd need to migrate everything off it first.
I'm sure I saw a thread that suggested this wasn't the case with Proxmox and ZFS. It causes pressure on RAM so guests get their balloons inflated and ZFS takes that RAM as well. So they had to tweak ZFS to limit the amount of RAM it gobbles up.
Also if I remember right some of the disk write...
Isn't the issue with ZFS that without heavy tuning it'll gobble up all the RAM you want to use for your VM's and without quite a bit of RAM performance drops heavily?
There's a new version of Flashcache out a few days ago. Apparently this gives Facebook a nice performance bump so maybe helps when added to Proxmox?

It seems it's the only...
This doesn't work for me also as just tried it for the first time tonight with the same error. The storage location is setup to accept backups but it won't upload it from the web interface.
Uploading it manually to the dump folder shows it on the web interface and allows me to restore it.
I don't think this will work in Proxmox because I believe you need at least kernel 3.9 for VFIO VGA Passthrough. I cannot see RedHat back porting an experimental feature...
Again I'm not sure but I'd guess that the Proxmox kernel doesn't support any of the VFIO improvements in KVM as all have...
Your right I have no advanced network setup really with this other than the LAG for the bonded NIC's which is used for the VM's and not the router. I do however standby that I see no reason my router couldn't support all the features of pfSense and the physical NIC's when they are passed...
