Hello!
Indeed this is correct and seems to be a kernel bug, since there is no reason for the drivers to be compatible with all the previous kernels and fail on this one. cc @fabian
Hello,
Managed to solve the very same problem. It's an issue related to graphics driver after the 1903 update and it's a known issue.
The issue manifests after initiating an RDP session, then exiting the session without the logout of the user.
To replicate the issue:
Create a Windows 10 1903...
Hey!
You don't need to do anything. The default settings should work well. What i suggest doing in your particular case is:
make sure you limit the amount of ARC cache. The ZFS can quickly fill a huge chunk of RAM and even though it is limited to 50% by default, it can still be way too much...
First of all - i don't advise using hardware raid.
If you decide to use it, you can go for xfs or ext4.
I remember reading on both of them and i don't remember a clear winner among the 2.
Hey!
Regarding the hosting, this is a very specific use case and it depends on your stack and physical setup. Let me dive a bit deeper into some of the aspects:
You've said you're hosting each website on a dedicated server. I assume you mean VPS, otherwise it is interesting why you are looking...
@john8520
Fixed. Just a quick update for the others, in case you encounter this issue:
make sure your repositories are set correctly. Default Proxmox repositories can prevent a proper update. Add the no-subscription repository and remove the enterprise one in case you don't have the...
@john8520
Most likely reason - you've skipped a step and something went wrong from there. If you can expose Proxmox Web UI via an IP or url - i can have a look.
@JMM
LOL :D Wait till you try HP ;)
On the serious side of things, i'd suggest you try different drives and different controllers. I guess grabbing a used H330 is cheaper than shipping 2 servers back, so that's that. But i have most doubts about the drives. sdb drive seems to cause issues. Try...
I've never had a similar issue, but i do own several R630s with PERC H330. A couple of questions:
what is your storage setup? Are you using SAS/SATA/PCIe SSDs or SATA/SAS HDDs? Are the drives in an array?
what file system are you using?
if ZFS, how much RAM do you have and if you have an SSD...
@falves1
It may be the case that your issue is related to something else.
Have you tried looking into the processes that consume the CPU?
Is the usage happening during idling or all the time?
Specifically, does it happen after you connect and disconnect via RDP or maybe it's unrelated to RDP?
@adamb
LOL :D Was posting the reply in another thread and decided to drop it here as well, since the discussion seemed ongoing.
Wish i stumbled into your reply earlier!

@Jan Panoch
Hm, the standardised reply seems to have shifted from "sorry, no, it won't happen" to "we're looking into it" ;)
A bit early to celebrate, but we may have made them rethink the driver aspect.
@Toxik
I'd be really careful with these benchmarks, since there are plenty of things that can come into play - the CPU power, the RAM size and speed, the drives type (SATA, SAS, PCIe), speed and latency. It makes no sense that write speed is better on raidz2 than on raid10 and it makes no sense...
@Abhijit Roy
You are thinking correctly - with VMs you will be able to migrate seamlessly from one server to another. I foresee no drawbacks as the loss to the hypervisor is around 3% and you aren't likely to notice it. The benefits, on the other hand, are resource optimisation across the...
