    5.0-15 > 5.0-18 worrying message

I had the same warning during the update. I browsed thru every subfolder under /usr/local and usr/local/share, but there was literally nothing in it, so I just manually deleted them. ;) YMMV of course

    Stop vm for backup

Something to try, I recall that when running on ZFS, they recommend setting VM hard drive cache setting set to "writeback". Check if it's set to none, and change if needed. https://forum.proxmox.com/threads/solved-vm-wont-boot-if-located-in-a-zfs-directory.17784/ Also, always use stable virtio...

[SOLVED] ZFS: Changing label after replacing harddisk?

Don't mean to resurrect this old thread, I thought to share a possible solution from another post here. It might be a similar problem where the disk "label" is missing and/or false disk degraded pool message (but disk checks fine with smartctl)...

    Unstable Transferspeed/Network (Windows Server 2016)

Hi, it's totally up to you. If you use 2 ports on the Lsi for system drive, you still have 6ports left (4 for raid10+1 SSD cache+1 backup drive) If the server can fit more than 8 drives, than utilizing the built-in p410i as hardware raid1would free up all 8ports on the Lsi for anything you want...

    Unstable Transferspeed/Network (Windows Server 2016)

You could try a couple things, try again with hard drive cache=none, and also try cache=write through. If you have at least 8 cores available in ProxMox,, try increasing VM114 from 2 to 4 CPU cores. And always use VirtIO 'stable' windows drivers instead of latest. I've had past issues with...

NoVNC Problems: "Server disconnected (code: 1006)" in Safari, Firefox works

One thing you can try is delete the browser cache/cookies, and then restart browser. Another thing I notice (sometimes when starting a VM thru ProxMox webgui VNC console) is that initially the screen is blank. But after the VM is started, I click something else in ProxMox gui (summary for...

    Unstable Transferspeed/Network (Windows Server 2016)

Awesome! Ok we getting closer (I think). There's 2 things to try. 1.) (quick test) modify your vm114 hard drive config to have cache=writeback. I noticed you didn't have writeback enabled. And then restest speeds. 2.) ( this requires more work, I hope this is just a test server! :) )...

    Unstable Transferspeed/Network (Windows Server 2016)

You mentioned there was an additional hard drive, used for backups. I assume this is also connected to the lsi 9211-i8, but not part of the 'vmdata' pool; If so, could you test a VM (Debian) on that backup drive, and check if speeds are normal?

    Unstable Transferspeed/Network (Windows Server 2016)

I don't know if this might help, but on freenas forums they recommended using firmware "P16" or "P19". There's always the risk of bricking the controller however. You can also check your ZFS volume ashift setting via this CLI command if it's set at 12 (generally preferred) or 9. zdb -C vmdata...

[SOLVED] Does disk order matter in ZFS pool recovery?

Awesome thanks! I did a test DR on a Raid1 ZFS previously, but left both disks in the same place. The "zpool import -f poolname" worked like a charm. Cheers!

    Unstable Transferspeed/Network (Windows Server 2016)

The 4 drives, are they connected directly via sata port or connected to raid controller card? Also if connected to raid controller card, is it set to HBA or JBOD mode? Can you also post lsblk and fdisk -l for more info? Finally, it looks like you are using 5.0 beta. Do you get same results with...

    Unstable Transferspeed/Network (Windows Server 2016)

Would it be possible to restest using a single Ethernet card, with the 3 others temporarily disabled. And if you get the same speed results, can you try a different switch/cat6 cable?

[SOLVED] Does disk order matter in ZFS pool recovery?

Hi there, I have a silly question about ZFS & SATA physical drive order. In a ProxMox configuration with 1 system drive and 4 data drives setup as ZFS/Raid 10. When doing ZFS pool recovery, does it matter what order the 4 SATA drives are put back in? So if the original server died, and I setup...

    Proxmox VE 5.0 beta2 released!

Just wanted to report a possible Microsoft Edge browser bug with proxmox. When using Windows Edge browser (latest creators update) and uploading an ISO file, the % uploaded does not update, it stays at 0% (even though it continues to upload in background). It works fine on other browsers. thanks!

    Proxmox VE 5.0 beta1 released!

Did you try to install ProxMox using a USB or flash card? If so, it may not work. YMMV, but best to use CD disc to install. For some reason, installing from USB flash drive works on some computers, but not on others (HP Z200 workstation for example).

    Proxmox VE 5.0 beta1 released!

AFAIK yes they need to be changed from "jessie" to "stretch". I recommend doing the upgrade using putty on a remote PC, instead of shell console within web gui. This way you can scroll back and view session/upgrade process. Before changing repository, make sure to "apt-get update && apt-get...

Install Windows 2016 Server on Proxmox VE (Video tutorial)

Hi Twix, there's a bugs section on the same Fedora VirtIO download site with email links to KVM devs, and also Bugzilla. Sorry can't post links here, as I'm considered a new user (forum spam control)

Install Windows 2016 Server on Proxmox VE (Video tutorial)

@Terrum. Make sure you do full proxmox backup of your windows VM, before updating to virtio drivers. And always use "stable" instead of "latest" virtio drivers (I've had cases where "latest" virtio builds stop windows from booting properly. YMMV of course.) Search for the article in this...
