Is this a single drive that stores both proxmox & VM's? I would start with backing up critical user data within each VM to a backup location. Then add a second disk as a directory, and start backing up the VMs themselves.
This link shows how to add a 2nd disk as local storage (you just have to...
@tuonazzurro here is a similar post about ZFS memory requirements:
https://forum.proxmox.com/threads/proxmox-ve-new-server-high-io-delay.39162/#post-193737
Yes 8GB is probably the issue. ZFS requires lots of memory to be optimal. So if you have 8GB memory, about 50%/4GB is usually reserved for ZFS. I recommend trying again with regular ext4, or adding an extra 8GB ram.
I would double check the ML110 BIOS raid/SATA settings. I would also try a new SATA cable, and maybe a different SATA port. To better troubleshoot (and if this is just a test server) start Proxmox install on the ML110 with a single SATA/SAS disk and regular ext4. When you create a Windows...
You can try installing Fedora on your system and see if it works with KVM virtual machines. If not, then there's some BIOS issue or your CPU is not supported.

I suggest trying a different PC with a known good SATA disk and at least 8-16GB ram. If the same Windows 10 ISO works fine, there must be an issue with your first machine. Try changing SATA disks, change SATA cabling, change SATA port, check BIOS settings for Intel virtualization enabled (or...
Try this under administrative command prompt in Server 2012:
"w32tm /config /manualpeerlist:pool.ntp.org /syncfromflags:MANUAL"
"net stop w32time"
"net start w32time"
Don't forget to set the proper timezone as well
I am running latest pve-nosubscription with PVE 5.1-41, and no problems with Firefox or Chrome on Windows 10.
There's a little bug with MS Edge where it doesn't show upload % when transferring an ISO file, but other than that, it works fine.
Are you running the web browser thru a proxy?
@chalan, this is a good starting point:
http://open-zfs.org/wiki/Hardware
It points to a blog with updated list of ZFS controllers:
http://blog.zorinaq.com/from-32-to-2-ports-ideal-satasas-controllers-for-zfs-linux-md-ra/
I recommend starting a new thread for proxmox user's...
@chalan here are my numbers for one of my HP test servers. This is a fresh setup 1 drive for boot, 4 drives for rpool, and no other SSD for ZFS cache:
XeonX3470 (5204 CPU passmarks)/16GB DDR3/HPZ200 motherboard
2 WDRE4 7200rpm (new 3.5") + 2 Seagate 7200RPM (old 2.5")
rpool ashift=12 zfs...
@chalan If this is a test server, can you backup your VMs, and then setup WD RED drives on a different system? Perhaps your server's controller is not optimized with standard SATA drives. Perhaps it's tuned for HW RAID/SAS combo. Only way to find out is put these drives on different...
Thanks for the update deflin, please don't forget to change the subject line to [solved]. In case this happens again in future, you can try disabling Windows 10 hibernate function as well as "fast boot", to see if they might affect booting. cheers!
Hi Deflin,
Check you are using the correct repository before doing "apt update && apt dist-upgrade". By default PVE uses enterprise repo. So if you did not purchase a support license, use "Proxmox VE No-Subscription Repository"

You will need...
Hello friends,
I have 2 questions.
My first question is about ZFS ashift. I was following this thread about ZFS and default ashift value of 9 vs 12 for zpools. https://github.com/zfsonlinux/zfs/issues/6373
Regarding ZFS on Linux used in Proxmox 5.1, is it true that when you create a zpool...
For SATA I like Western Digital "RE" series, and for Seagate "Constellation" series, those are enterprise grade SATA drives that I've had good luck with. Hitachi 7K4000 also had good reviews with good URE rate and MTBF

@sandqst , have you checked the link above recently? There have been several fixes for ProxMox 5.1& old cpu/kvm issues and BSOD Win10/2016 issues:
https://forum.proxmox.com/threads/pve-5-1-kvm-broken-on-old-cpus.37666/page-2#post-190145
As far as BSOD, does it affect only Windows 10/2016 (using Win10/2016 VM setting)? I updated a Dell T300 server last night to latest pve-nosubscription with kernel 4.13.8 and rebooted. So far no BSOD on my Win2008SBS VM (Vista/2008 VM setting) on LVM/Latest Stable VirtIO drivers.
Does it have Perc H330/H730 raid card? There was an issue after setting to HBA mode, that they needed to factory reset the RAID card, and then reboot, and then re-enable HBA mode (non-raid disk mode). See if this helps you:
