[SOLVED] proxmox disk partition, no space left on device

Glad it helped. 980 MB free isn't exactly a lot. So you might run into this again sooner or later...

    Move storage to other

Might be the source or the destination. Bandwidth isn't everything. Third option could be the process itself. Have no experience with that process so I can only guess

Direct LAN connection between NAS and Proxmox

? Typically Ethernet works full duplex. Means you can send and receive 1gbit the same time - eg achieve up to 2 Gbit total throughput. If you see 50mb/s only your are limited by something else... Configure both with a different subnet to your existing subnet. Then, due to the basic work...

I am working with 8gb Free is around 3,5 GB One likely Problem is /lib/modules filling up the space. I have created a cleanup script a while ago. See here: https://forum.proxmox.com/threads/lib-modules-filling-up-hard-drive.39199/

Hardware selection advice - blade/node-server cluster

What where the clockspeeds? What was the CPU type? Alone the CPU family and clockspeed may make a differece. So you can easily jump to a wrong conclusion. Arm is in a lot of workloads less powerful. More efficient in terms of power consumption though

Windows 10 preserve HWID across VM Rebuilds

Why? A simple reinstall should do the trick? In the VM config file is a uuid. My guess would be to start there with a further investigation. That guide changes for sure when a new VM gets created.

    Backup 1:1

Apologies, don't get that. What do you mean with extract? In the end it is a storage device (block) and therefore it is irrelevant. Solely the filesystem/data on it defines how you can work on a PC.

Hardware selection advice - blade/node-server cluster

First the multinode system cannot be split. Means it only can be in on place. Rack Datacenter. Secondly typically these systems have limited CPU options due to density constraints. Other option is limited environment specs, also due to heat considerations. Adding additional interface cards is...

Moving from ESXI to PVE with an existing ZFS pool

Important: do not modify the disks! Dont delete partitiond etc. You will screw (or might) your data !!!

Moving from ESXI to PVE with an existing ZFS pool

This indicates that you have used VMFS on your esxi which I was about to ask ( and which is a common setup). What you try to do in the way you do is not possible, as VMFS is a proprietary file system. PVE just can't read it. And AFAIK there is no 3rd party driver for Linux... What you would...

PVE Host OS Disk Recommended Size

You could create a logical drive in your RAID 5 (think this is what I would do) or use a partition to achieve it. A logical drive on the raid controller would result in a different device node in the OS (e.g. give you SDA and SDB) In the end you achieve similar things. Mostly it is personal...

PFSENSE - Firewall - home using

Why exactly did you configure the virtual devices as "firewall=1"? How does your PVE (host) firewall config look like? Imho this is not needed to use a pfsense in such a way you plan it. It can make sense to additionally reglement traffic within a subnet but for your current setup and...

    Backup 1:1

you could pass through the physical disk directly to the guest. This allows writing down whatever file system you like and therefore pull data directly off it. I use a similar approach myself, but with another purpose. I am managing ZFS pools directly within a VM without the need of doing a...

Hardware selection advice - blade/node-server cluster

Even though I am working with multinode systems a lot I personally would avoid them. Limited availability typically makes spare parts and so on more expensive. I'd search for 1u or 2u standard server. More options to add interfaces, extensions and easier to re-purpose if things change. I also...

My VMs are shutting down unexpectedly

Check that the settings are actually applied. Use arcstat and arcsummary Edit: Something else: are you using with dows guests? Win 10? If yes check the powersafe settings. My guests once did suspend themselves after some time of inactivity

My VMs are shutting down unexpectedly

ZFS uses up to 50% memory if not configured otherwise. I guess your host runs into a out of memory condition and finally kills your VMs. Your output shows that you have not configured the min/Max. Review the complete output and you will see it uses up to 8GB. With 1TB of total storage you should...
