Went down and reinstalled. Fresh download of Proxmox ISO off official website today. Selected ZFS Raid1 on (3) 4TB sata drives. After install server booted up fine. Logged in remotely with ssh and https. Bought and installed a license first. Did apt-get update followed by apt-get...
I have a supermicro server with four 4TB sata drives. I would like to install Proxmox on sda with ext4 or ext3 and boot off it. Then I would like to put sdb and sdc in a ZFS redundant array and use it for all my containers and images. Then I would like to mount sdd as ext4 simply as /backups...
This is from screen shot from crash after reboot. Any idea what problem is?

2nd Time this happened. First time I did apt-get update then apt-get upgrade and after reboot server disappeared. Turns out I needed dist-upgrade to upgrade ZFS drivers or something to that nature. That was couple months ago. Now I did apt-get update followed by apt-get dist-update and...
I have never worked with KVM much. Running Proxmox 4.x on ZFS and I want to create a Centos 7 VM. If I specify 500GB for disk size will it actually use 500GB of disk space? If the 500GB runs low is there an easy way to add space to the VM and expand its drive?
Stuff like that was easy on...
I thought dist-upgrade was for moving from one major release to another. Would this only be necessary when moving from say 4.1 to 4.2 or something like that?
By default in the GUI after install there is something in storage called "local" and it states its a directory "/var/lib/vz". For content it has everything selected besides vzdump. Why cannot this be used for containers and vm's?
It does not work when I try to create containers on local...
I did a fresh install of proxmox 4.1 on two 4TB identical sata drives in ZFS raid1. I now have this:
root@k6:~# zfs list
NAME USED AVAIL REFER MOUNTPOINT
rpool 16.7G 3.50T 96K /rpool
rpool/ROOT 802M 3.50T 96K /rpool/ROOT
rpool/ROOT/pve-1 802M...
I am new to ZFS. Say I use the proxmox 4.1 install ISO/usb and install on two or more 2TB sata drives in a ZFS software raid1 type array for redundancy. What are the next steps in making everything work and using the local drives for VM's? Documentation seems a bit short on this. Think I...
I have always worked with OpenVZ containers up tell now. LXC has no user quotas so I guess I am forced too move to KVM. If I do a KVM backup with suspend how much downtime would I have typically?
I am thinking of using EXT4 instead of ZFS because of a server crash and I am not sure its...
Apparently its a Kernel panic.
From cropped photo I have received.

This is on a Proxmox 4.0 install after updating to 4.1 and rebooting. Its installed on three 4TB sata drives with...
Don't you have to do something like "zfs create rpool/storage" on command line first? I am pretty confused yet on the ZFS proxmox setup in 4.x and think the howto could be better. I also did not check thin provision, should I have?
Does this also affect I/O Wait on KVM containers? Have always used OpenVZ containers but lack of user quota in LXC may force me to switch to KVM. My containers are I/O intensive. How will this effect me?
