Years back I managed to make it happen installning the Nvidia drivers on the pve host under proxmox v6 or something.
i recall that I read somewhere that this issue has been taken care of in v7 or 8.
Today I installed v8.1 and what I can see nothing has changed.
Is there a post/blog that...
That is one idea, if the new home was a small place, it is not. 10.19.0.0/24 is the server VLAN. The main thing I need to do is to get to the storage pool of the server, to move stuff away.
Hey all!
So I have a Proxmoxserver that has been running for years now, at 10.1.1.10/24. Now it will get a new home, the issue here is that the new place has a new ip-series.
10.19.0.0/24.
How do I hook up the Proxmox server and change its base IP? Display and keyboard - but where do I find the...
I tired it and Proxmox just crashed when I tried to start the VM. I have swapped the RAID card from the default 410 something to a föasjed card from Art of Server. It has been working flawlessly.
The need for a better file sharing solution has arisen here at home. :)
I checked out Techno Tims YT where he virtualizes FreeNAS and under hardware he adds a PCI device, the LSI disk device.
Let me back up some... I am running Proxmox on a Dell PE R720, one ZFS Pool.
If I were to add the LSI...
I created an VLAN network and added bridge 2 to like this:
auto vmbr1
iface vmbr1 inet manual
bridge-ports eno2
bridge-stp off
bridge-fd 0
bridge-vlan-aware yes
bridge-vids 2-4094
#VLAN 10
auto vmbr1.10
iface vmbr1.10 inet static
address...
I have just installed Proxmox ontop of Debian 11, I had ZoL installed a zpool. I used "zpool import -f <poolname>" to add the old pool to Proxmox, all works but just one small tiny thing. Only VM Disks and CT Volumes are listed for it, but I am not able to create an VM or LXC to use this. I have...
So after a few tries and reading the wiki again, the trick was to choose "No configuration" when I was prompted to choose what kind of mail service to use. The guide says Local only that did not work.
First up, yes I have read and followed the guide: https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Install_Proxmox_VE_on_Debian_11_Bullseye
Secondly I have checked that my /etc/hosts is correct, tested with hostname --ip-address and got the same ip-number.
I can dig my domain name to my internal DNS and do a...
I want my VMs to use a VLAN. I have tried a few days now with no luck. Here I will show you my latest test.
This is the settings for a Debian VM. I have tried using vmbr0 and 1 no difference. It doesn't get a network connection or a DHCP package.
I am sure that I have overlooked something...
So it for sure seems like this is the issue.
No space left on device (500)
Now how to fix it... first up I need to stop the LXCs from starting from boot. I get an "Error writing 100.conf: Input/output error" when trying to change that webui or cli.
After a good nigths sleep I am at it again. For some unknown reason other than time passed, I can now login to the web gui, so it all starts with a win.
This could mean something...
rpool 14M 128K 14M 1% /rpool
rpool/data...
Hello all!
My current main Proxmox server has been running for well over a year now, all VMs and LXC just chugging along, so much so that I felt like hey lets go on vacation!
2 days in one of my Nextcloud users messaged me asking - what is up with Nextcloud. Bewildered and with no access to the...
Ok I have now removed the args-line in my vmid.conf on the host. I am sorry to say that did not help in any way.
Thing is that I have had this args-line in there for months.
Here you go: https://cloud.grillgeek.se/s/X4Han8GgfypG49K
Found this in the guest-dsmeg:
[ 23.975002] NVRM: GPU 0000:01:00.0: RmInitAdapter failed!
I searched for that and found a thread at Nvidia: https://forums.developer.nvidia.com/t/nvrm-rminitadapter-failed-proxmox-gpu-passthrough/199720...
I have been using a Nvidia GPU for months now with great success, then I updated to 7.2 and now the VM says "No devices were found".
I do see it using lspci, I can find it using a PCI Device (hostpci0) in the hardware section.
This is the conf file for the guest OS.
