Hello,
I do have an old 4.4 2-nodes cluster, with shared storage. I'd like to upgrade it (better late than never).
Is it possible for me to migrate all the VM off one of the nodes, upgrade it (and still have it in the cluster),
and then move back all VMs to the new upgraded node, and...
Solved the problem with the following step on each node::
killall corosync -9
umount /etc/pve -l
service pve-cluster stop
... wait a bit, re-installed the same pve-cluster package on each node, and re started everything.
Hello all,
I am having an issue within a 3 nodes cluster:
After a disk failure, I have re installed one of the nodes (using the same hostname/IP).
Before trying to make it join the cluster again, I removed it from the cluster using "pvecm delnode", but something went bad. I then, tried to...
update: it started to work some time after. Maybe some cache expiration somewhere ?
My ping started to work at seq=5322. Quite a long cache...
Sorry for the noise
Hi,
I just had a fresh install of Proxmox VE 5.1 (see pveversion -v below) on a couple of R610 with PCI Intel NICs (one ixgbe and one quad-e1000). I tried to move a few VMs from a legacy Proxmox VE 4.x cluster to that new cluster, which is located on the same switch than the legacy one...
Hi,
I have a cluster of two proxmox ve servers, on which I have a LVM over iSCSI shared storage for my VMs.
I recently changed the fileserver, and I migrated the storage from the legacy iscsi storage, to the new one, using the "move disk" feature on each VM's hardware section. That was long...
Well... for a VM I was not able to migrate online, I had to shutdown/start it again, and after that, migration went fine...
Not very happy about that, but anyway, if it has to be done, I'll do it :-)
Any clue why a shutdown/start seems required?
OK, that was it. Sorry for that :-)
Now:
- Offline migration works, and I can start the VM on the second node.
- Online migration still fails:
Nov 02 18:39:47 starting migration of VM 119 to node 'pve02-ivr' (172.16.43.2)
Nov 02 18:39:47 copying disk images
Nov 02 18:39:47 starting VM 119...
I have found this (sorry, french): http://forums.fedora-fr.org/viewtopic.php?id=56347
It suggests that I should need "kvm-intel" module, and it seems that it is true (I have some Intel CPUs), as it is not present on pve02-ivr:
pve01-ivr:
root@pve01-ivr:~# lsmod | grep kvm
kvm_intel...
Dietmar,
Yes, it works. I shutdown'ed a VM, and migrated it successfully:
Nov 02 17:48:25 starting migration of VM 118 to node 'pve02-ivr' (172.16.43.2)
Nov 02 17:48:25 copying disk images
Nov 02 17:48:26 migration finished successfully (duration 00:00:02)
TASK OK
However, I have not been...
