Why do bind mounts prevent snapshots?

"Skip replication" "No backup" ... "Skip snapshots" In the meantime, we have to remove pass-through data drives to do snapshot, then add them again.

[SOLVED] Directory not listed in gui

The \proc\kcore is fine, it's not ... real. Issue is a folder under root, where I put an image at one point, while working on how to get it into the pve construct. It took a while to fill the drive. Probably coincidence it filed up when I did the change, or I'm barking up the wrong tree.

    explore physical vs LVM

I was using flexible terminology, referring to my non-LVM drive as physical. It is sdbx mounted via fstab and as directory in Proxmox. Another (physical drive) stores the LVM. I think LVM just doesn't do it. lvmfauxmv /VG0/LV0 /dev/VG1/ lvmfauxcp /dev/VG0/ /dev/VG1/ ls -l...

    explore physical vs LVM

I want to create a VM in a VG using existing disk images which are currently stored on a physical drive. The qcow2 images on the physical drive are not in use by any VM, never attached to anything but they show in proxmox. I can create a VM in a physical directory and move an image to it's...

    Newish User - Boot issue

I'm pretty much in the same place with experience. Sounds like something changed or corrupted where grub is looking for proxmox in the wrong place. When it worked, were there different drives connected or in a different order? The /boot/grub/grub.cfg has specific LVM UUID entries. I wonder if...

    [SOLVED] Server console blank

Resolved issue with a 1030 card. I can see now, squinting. Kinda small on a 4k. IMO best practice would be to include test-mode option during install. I had to repair the repair tools.

    [SOLVED] Server console blank

Aha. When proxmox boots, it has a brief display then it goes blank, then the monitor says no input. It almost looked like it was meant to be that way.... I'll look into the video config. Thanks.

    [SOLVED] Server console blank

Thanks. 'Directly on the server' means using a keyboard and monitor which are plugged directly into the server. ssh and noVNC are remote access tools. A direct console is typically used for maintenance. Example: VMware ESXi Direct Console User Interface (DCUI)
