What type of CPU? It works on a Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2660 v2 at least, on Linux 5.15.35-2-pve #1 SMP PVE 5.15.35-5 (Wed, 08 Jun 2022 15:02:51 +0200) x86_64 GNU/Linux.

Setting tdp_mmu=N fixes the issue with the newest kernel 5.15 and Windows 11 Insider Builds.

Is there any possibility for an official fix without disabling mitigations or downgrading to an old kernel?

I run a VM in Host CPU mode (E5-2650 v2), it does not complain about the CPU, but rather about the missing Secure Boot and TPM 2.0. Updating works well if I remove appraiserres.dll and appraiser.sdb from the source folder.

What lines did you remove? It is pretty bad that this isn't implemented directly into proxmox-boot-tool.

I hope Proxmox staff is now back from holidays ;) and will make a release supporting TPM 2.0 officially so Windows 11 RTM can be used on Proxmox as soon as it gets released.

This solution might resolve the problem of PBS backups to external drives: https://forum.proxmox.com/threads/copy-backups-to-external-drive.88791/post-389048 But a more integrated solution as said in the previous post is definitely a better option.
