i have proxmox on some s740 mini computers.
i have attached an older dvi monitor via dvi->hdmi cable and hdmi->dp adatper.
so far it's working fine.
the problem is that when i boot without the monitor attached/powered on.
attaching the monitor at a later time, it tells there is no...
i want to add a rule which specifically allows one port/protocol and a second rule which denies all other ports/protocols.
for the destination port, i can choose "any", but in "protocol" input box, i can ony choose one specific protocoll, but not "all".
iptables manpage is telling...
i have 2 VMs on 2 different proxmox mini systems which use 2 different usb wifi dongles with ralink chipset (rt73usb and rt2800usb), but both of them have isses from time to time.
both show this message in dmesg from time to time - and hang up afterwards:

i found (and opened a bugreport) that with lubuntu, there is a screensaver being installed by default and being active, which is causing ressource intensive cpu usage (70% on dual vcpu) and doubling power usage with my mac mini running proxmox. (20 instead of 10 watts).
does anybody know...
i want to give https://download.manjaro.org/kde/22.0.5/manjaro-kde-22.0.5-230316-linux61.iso a try on proxmox, but it's reproducably freezing on installation (mouse pointer cannot be moved anymore, system does not react to input).
does somebody have managed to install manjaro...
i do backup to and external usb disk with hd-idle ( https://github.com/adelolmo/hd-idle ) utility. this saves a LOT of energy for my little s740 home server and pve mini servers/clusters in makerspace bonn and dingfabrik cologne.
unfortunately, i'm having a hard time scheduling the...
not sure if this has been brought up here, but i cannot remember and it cannot do harm to re-post :
betreibt hier wer proxmox via externer usb3.0 platte(n) mit zfs und mag erfahrungswerte teilen ?
ich hab nen schwung kleiner systeme die sich aush platz/interface-mangel leider nur furchtbar besch.... intern aufrüsten lassen.
will die als backup nodes oder cluster quorum systeme nutzen.
i wondered if we could have client-side online encryption to have vzdump backup stored encrypted on the target datastore.
i guess this is something many people can need and which currently is only available with proxmox backup server.
i have taken a look into that , and it should...
i installed a fresh proxmox 7.3 and during upgrade to latest pvetest, i noticed this grub error message.
i'm using zfs root. the system (futro s740) does not have legacy boot and can only boot via uefi
not sure if that's worth taking a closer look, but it looks ugly/weird.
i can offer...
sorry to tell this, but i think forum search is really annoying, as it will not allow phrase search for example.
you simply won't find things if you want to get into the details...
i'm using google more and more for proxmox forum search as a workaround.
any perspective that this gets...
as i found that atime can cause pathological slowness ( https://forum.proxmox.com/threads/weird-disk-write-i-o-pattern-on-source-disks-when-moving-virtual-disk.123639/ ) , i'd like to set atime=on and relatime=on on all my datastores and also on the backup target where vzdumps being...
old title of this thread is "weird disk write i/o pattern on source disks when moving virtual disk".
it has been adjusted to match the bugzilla ticket .it's about a performance regression finding which seems to affect virtual machines with qcow2 when those are stored on zfs. it was...
"The only requirements for the external host are that it needs network access to the cluster and to have a corosync-qnetd package available. We provide a package for Debian based hosts...."
but i see no...
i had to recover from grub failure yesterday and it's sometimes hard to find the correct information in the proxmox wiki
does this one still apply for non-zfs setup (as it's very old) ?
shouldn't we use "proxmox-boot-tool refresh"...
i searched for quite a while how to get to more detailed VM stats via api/cmdline and was lead to multiple wrong paths/dead ends.
eventually, i found that default text-based output of "pvesh get" is severely crippled, but you get to all of the vm performance/statistics data when you use...
