I apologize, mea culpa, I though I can pick font from a dropdown list of available fonts, but I had to type myself a Windows console font Thanks a lot
  2. [SOLVED] My Settings / xterm.js Settings / All fields are greyed out

Recently the fonts and letter spacing of the Shell changed by itself, and it's awful. I wanted to change this but the xterm.js Settings are all greyed out. Any idea please?
  3. Using Proxmox as NAS for different VMs + Windows Clients

There is no problem in virtualising Truenas. I am sure your problems are due to the way you implemented it. You didn’t give any details about your installation. I have Truenas Scale virtualized on Proxmox, and works perfectly. I use Proxmox for virtualization of all my VMs including the Trunas...
  4. [SOLVED] Ubuntu release-upgrade in container, is it possible / recommended?

Yes, it's possible and working fine. I cloned my LXC and performed the upgrade in the clone. It worked perfectly and then I removed the initial LXC
  5. [SOLVED] Ubuntu release-upgrade in container, is it possible / recommended?

I am running Ubuntu 21.10 (impish) in a Proxmox container downloaded from a Proxmox template The issue I am facing: When I try apt-get update it says: impish update are not available. (apparently starting July 14 is not supported anymore) When I login the system displays the message: New release...
  6. After changing lxc to priviledged, most files and directories have owner:group (100000:100000)

In the conf file of the lxc I removed the line unpriviledged=1, the started the container Nothing works anymore, due to fucked up permissions. su, does not work, sudo. I had to manually change owner, group for each binary. But I think this is not the solution. Any ideas?

  9. Ubuntu Container - is it possible to have audio in a container

Thank you very much sir. Everything was right in my config, with one exception. In my container conf file I had unpriviledged=1. Yours did not have that. I removed the line, and I now can see the audio device:) So the trick was the priviledged lxc. Thanks again. admin@pandora:/$ aplay...

  12. Ubuntu Container - is it possible to have audio in a container

Hi I've created an Ubuntu 22.04 container (not Docker). My MTB has a Realtek ALC1150, onboard. I'm wondering if I can passthrough the audio crtl. to the container (I plan to install Pianobar a CLI based client of Pandora music streaming). I've done that in the past with with a VM, but I can't...
  13. Can I use something else other than noVNC? For instance SPICE and xterm are both greyed out

I find noVNC pretty limited, can't do copy and paste. I tried everything. I thought I might have more luck with SPICE or xterm, but they are both inaccessible. Any idea how to activate them?
  14. How to shrink a drive

It’s simply a virtio disk that I attached as a secondary disk to a Openmediavault VM. I just created the vdisk by specifying the size and clicking add. The VM was still turned off, so the disk was virgin, no formatting, no data written by the VM OS, no partitioning etc. So there was nothing...
  15. How to shrink a drive

Hi famous member, What if the disk that I want to shrink is not the VM disk, but disk attached to a VM, this disk is not yet used, it's just empty. By mistake I grew it instead of shrinking it. And BTW why the option RESIZE DISK offers just to grow and not shrink. Don't tell me that I have to...
  16. Is it possible to passthrough a partition of a drive to a VM? and not the entire disk?

Yes I know it's not good to have both on the same SSD, but my utilization of the NAS is so minimal that I am not too worried, and not only SSDs die sooner or later, but all medium. Yes as long as the pool drives are OK and I have a config file, if I loose the OS, replacing the boot drive (in...
  17. Is it possible to passthrough a partition of a drive to a VM? and not the entire disk?

Hi, you might find my question weird, but I have a good reason for asking this. I want to partition an nvme drive with 3 partitions, then I want to create a Truenas Scale VM in Proxmox, and to present each partition to the Truenas in a such a way that the VM sees a full block device drive not a...
  18. Using Proxmox as NAS for different VMs + Windows Clients

For me is quite stable, and I prefer it to Proxmox which is not a storage system per say, and it's too complex (75% of the things you have to do them command line). The GUI of Proxmox is really a joke, very basic. I used to work with Hyper-V and VMware for years and there is no comparison.
