I can start a migration but the storage E.G. Node 1 (storage X) to Node 2, tries to use storage X, but I want storage Y on node 2, but the GUI or CLI doesn't let me specify a storage...
I wish to preserve a backups from various datasources (at least 2) into a new datasource with a much longer data retention time, the only thing I can seem to do is to a sync between datasources, but that will bring in data from all vm's, I just need a specific vm to be synced over with a longer...
So I have a new hard drive that is mounted as a directory on PVE 6.4 - it's working OK.
I am using MergerFS to mount the disk to /mnt/disk3 - I have other disks I am doing the same to - and mounting under /mnt/storage.
For some reason this third disk (1 of 3) is failing to mount to...
When I migrate an LXC I get:
ERROR: migration aborted (duration 00:00:00): storage 'Seagate1TBDriveThree' is not available on node 'pve'
Why can't I not choose a disk on remote?
The GUI doesn't even show disks that I can select on the remote node/host.
proxmox-ve: 6.4-1 (running kernel...
Executed the follow lines:
proxmox-backup-manager datastore list
proxmox-backup-manager datastore remove StoragePool
proxmox-backup-manager datastore create StoragePool /storage
Note, same as it was setup before I removed
Output of last command:
I've been digging around for a SAN.
ISCSI seems okay - the 1GbE (or x4) is acceptable for media streaming under 4K.
I am utilising MergerFS to group several disks into one pool, but looking at a high availability disk shelf, I was wondering if anyone new if it might be possible to add the ISCSI...
I've added two step auth and PVE can't start backups with error error fetching datastores - 401 Unauthorized.
I don't really want to add a new user just for backups... I'd need to change owner for all backups, etc.
Am I missing anything to make it painless to have TOTP and have VE just use...
I have a Samba server that I have working on a cluster and Samba share VM.
I have used this CFIS server many times, use it on the LAN, I know it works.
However, for some strange reason, a Proxmox host suddenly had the CFIS offline which was working for several days.
I restarted, removed and...
Is it possible to have backups (from a development point of view) to put backups of a VM in various datastores so different bits are stored on more than one disk, so when it comes to restoring, you're utilising more than one disk (which can be faster than reading from just one disk when...
This task was running for less than 1 second but I thought I was it running for 30 minutes +
In any case, none of my verification tasks have completed

I just tried a 500 GB VM backup just fine, but running this one, for some reason, results in this. I've tried more than once.
INFO: starting new backup job: vzdump 142 --storage PBS --node HPProliantDL360PGen8 --mode snapshot --remove 0
INFO: Starting Backup of VM 142 (qemu)
I attempted to load the data from a pulled hdd - tried to mount it only to find PVE complain about pve already existing when mounting the drive to a folder to browse.
vgrename <VG UUID> new_name

So I used this...
i had a difficult time testing a restore of a Windows computer of mine as a VM.
I had to use IDE, EFI disk, use the right BIOS (ovmf).
But, I can't get it to use HOST CPU, it just won't boot and I was wondering if anyone knew how I can get that working.
I can add it as a network drive on Windows and create a file just fine - I can touch /path/filename on the node for the CFIS.
But moving the disk to the CFIS gives
create full clone of drive sata0...
I am running Windows with a vGPU with an attached PCI graphics card and need to reboot to finish installing audio and other drivers but shutting down/restarting causes starting again to show:
TASK ERROR: timeout waiting on systemd
The only way I've been able to turn it off is force stop on...
Since around 6.3 newer updates, Proxmox has been running multiple backups, some on the same disk, not all, and I've had 3 at the same time - previously it did one at a time and didn't start new ones until the previous one completed.
Today my system broke badly, I managed to stop the tasks but...
I have some high IO usage from a VM, and iotop -o isn't so helpful with a generic userid that I can't translate into what VM it's coming from.
I was hoping I could get some sort of filepath to the process which would lead me to the disk number (and of course the VM ID but no luck so far)...
