    Need some installation support advices

Apparently they are for the optional CD/DVD or Tape drives. I would give it a try if the system can be installed to the SSDs connected to them and also boot afterwards. A last hint: Try to install in UEFI mode. This way the systemd-bootloader is used and not grub if you use ZFS for the root...

    Need some installation support advices

This way the IO of the system and guests will not interfere as much. If the SSDs and the HDDs are on the same backplane that point is kinda moot though anyway. If you attach the SSDs to the local SATA controller instead of the HBA you should get better IO overall. Since they are not enterprise...

    Need some installation support advices

I am curious why you think that. Given that ZFS has many features that make it interesting for a single node as well. Such as compression which, beside the savings in storage space, can speed up disk IO because CPUs are usually faster in (de)compressing data than the disks writing the...

    Need some installation support advices

You can choose the disks and the zRAID level during the installation for the first zpool. If you want to split your storage into multiple pools you can create the other pools after the system ist set up and running. See our Documentation for that [0]. Which zRAID level to use depends on your...

[SOLVED] Get container data from old disk

If you managed to activate the now renamed LV you can try the following: Recreate the Containers in the new installation and use dd to copy the old container file system to the new one. The LVs should show up as devices in /dev/mapper/ or alternatively in /dev/<VG name>/<disk name>. Be...

    Modify Hard Disk type

Be aware that by default the VM should use the virtio SCSI controller which should be preferred over virtio block. See https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Qemu/KVM_Virtual_Machines#qm_virtual_machines_settings You can also use the GUI. First detach the disk, edit it and once you save it, it will be...

USB Wifi Passthrough for Windows 7 VM - Please Help - RESOLVED

I just tested the USB passthrough behaviour myself and I must correct myself. The USB device will still show up after the VM startet. Other than that all I can recommend is to update, if not to 6.0 at least to 5.4. If that does not help I am at a loss myself.

[SOLVED] 3.

USB Wifi Passthrough for Windows 7 VM - Please Help - RESOLVED

Hmm, the USB device is just passed through and shouldn't even show up anymore if you do a lsusb once the VM is started. You could try to plug it into a nother USB port, even better would a a USB port that is connected to another USB controller. lsusb -t can help you identify to which controller...

Increase disk size of a VM on ZFS

Once the disk has been resized you need to first extend the partition within the VM and then the filesystem inside the partition. How to do that depends on which OS you are running within the VM. Current Windows versions and Linux distributions like Ubuntu come with their GUI tools for that. On...

grub fail if encryption dataset is present

You can create a mirrored zpool during the installation by selecting only two disks in the menu where you set the zfs raid level. The second pool you need to create after the system is installed and then add it to your storage config. Our official documentation has a topic on creating zpools...

grub fail if encryption dataset is present

Is reinstalling an option for you? If yes install Proxmox VE in UEFI mode. Grub's ZFS support is very limited and by enabling encryption on the root pool this pool now has a feature enabled that Grub does not support. When booting in UEFI mode systemd-boot is used instead of Grub and the...
