I see that Zabbix can be installed in a Docker container but can it also be installed in a ProxMox container? If no then I can stop spinning my wheels. If yes the I would love to hear from anyone who has done it.

Thanks

Have not had first-hand experience in that - but not sure why zabbix should not run in a lxc-container? (after all it just communicates with the agents on the hosts you want to monitor)

see: https://repo.zabbix.com/

That seems to be their repository for OS-packages for quite a few Linux distros

I hope this helps!

I have deployed nagios, zabbix and even our in-house NMS to lxc containers. No problem so far. As always unprivileged.

Agent and server work fine here ontop of a unprivileged Debian 11 LXC.
Had problems running the newer mariadb versions (I think 10.6) where zabbix 6.0 LTS server caused mariadb to permanently utilize the CPU 100%.
But zabbix works fine with older mariadb (I think 10.5).
